Comment:

Sebastian is pretty coolhe's great if you stay on top of your work and contribute during crit, and knows a ridiculous amount about a lot of things (how?? who's to say). Lots of conversations about design theory/ethics/politics, and he encourages learning about and using other disciplines. I got a lot out of his class and came out excited to learn.

Comment:

Reflecting on my college education with some years for clarity, no professor made me feel more inspired than Sebastian. While definitely focused more on the 'fuzzy' aspects of design (usability, meaning, humanism) his lectures not only pushed me to reflect on my work but consider what I am trying to achieve something vital for any young student!

Rereading some of the comments by others, he definitely does go off topic during class but what usually happens is that none of the students are participating, so he makes up for the quiet. If you're still confused, ask him directly and get straight to the point, he'll answer. A great professor with very thoughtful advice & opinions - just listen.

I'm over a month into Graphic Design 1 and still have no idea what we're doing. He goes on multiple-hour tangents on things unrelated to the class, and we never get around to what we were actually supposed to do that day. Doesn't know how to teach.

Great projects but tends to drone about nothing for hours on end. Critiques are LONG and make you feel like you aged 300 years after they're done, but the work is really interesting.

I liked this class and professor a lot. He gave actual briefs for every project which is so nice and our class had a Facebook group that was pretty cool. He has a lot to say and I felt it was all useful information about the design world we're entering in to. Runs the class professionally and organized and I took away some great portfolio pieces.

He should not be teaching period. He has no ability to clearly communicate what he wants from your work and his critiques leave you feeling more confused than when you started the projects based on his poorly written instructions. His favoritism makes no sense because some of the students he favors do not fully complete projects week to week

by far, worst professor ever. he thinks he's super smart, and thats fine, but he doesn't teach anything. he's busy talking about himself. i had him for 2 semesters, i learned NOTHING. he grades based on his mood. everyone in the class hated him. DO NOT - EVER- I REAPT- DO NOT TAKE HIM. HE SHOULD NOT TEACH HERE.

Very interesting guy who is very knowledgable in the field of design. He will help you understand what visual communication really means. His assignments are interesting but sometimes a challenge. Projects can be 1 week, or 2 weeks long. He talks a bit too much but he usually has good things to say. I learned a lot overall, he's worth taking!
