Continued from a prev post: she made me question my self worth with the last paper. Her comments were rude and extremely critical rather than constructive. A two page paper shouldn't be worth 100 points especially when there are no other assignments to balance it out. Her lectures were boring and unorganized. Avoid her at all costs.

I would've had As this semester if not for her. This is an entry level class for PSCI majors and it isn't hard. It's just hard to pass because she's so awful. She doesn't specify what she wants in papers, her "study guides" are 100+ terms she expects us to memorize and only tests us on a quarter of it. Reviews are are worthless and unhelpful.

I really enjoyed this class up until the final. A short paper was worth 25% of our overall grade with little guidance or specifications from the teacher. She teaches off of notes that she is probably had since the beginning of the 17th century. She needs to work on CLARITY.

Sam is awesome! She can be a little snippy sometimes but she is a great professor. Her classes are not that hard if you pay attention in class, and study for the tests.

She really is a GREAT teacher. I do not know why people hate her. The worst said is reliant on text and boring. Well in my class she did not rely on the text and if it was boring than you mostly likely did not enjoy the topic. I have a theory the people that do not like her just did not do well in her class and blame it on her rather than them.

I really don't understand why people don't like her. I honestly thought she was one of the best teachers I have ever had. She knows what she is talking about and sets you up for success. She really is not a bad teacher.

Sonntag is the worst PS professor at HSU. I was warned by 4 people but needed the class. Grading arbitrary, class boring and entirely taught from text, prof. seems to know very little about subject outside of her niche areas of interest. Never question her, even when she is teaching incorrect info, or feel the wrath.

She is very smart and informed. She is nice and entertaining. Not as structured as a typical class but still very informative and definitely tests on what we talk about. She really is darling.

I liked Sonntag a lot when I was a newbie in college, so I took an upper division class with her and it was a mistake. She relied heavily on the textbook, talked to much, and was just plain rude to students. If you take her class be prepared to be called out, for anything. I don't recommend Sonntag. There are better teachers and classes at HSU.

Sonntag is a great professor. She is at times long winded however she truly knows what she's talking about and is very intelligent, encouraging, and addresses you by name. Those who don't have interest in Poli Sci may not find her classes great, but as a major I really enjoy taking classes from her.

Professor Sonntag is a nice person, but hardly an interesting professor. She relies heavily on the readings during class without providing any interesting or stimulating discussion points. I was always very bored in class and did not really feel like I learned anything that added to my political science education, or any education for that matter.

Don't take her PSCI 230 Intro to Comparative Politics class. She is extremely boring and long-winded. All she does in class is recite the textbook. Literally. She makes nothing exciting and seems to take an odd amount of pleasure in judging and belittling students.
