Comment:

MAT107 is a class for students who have issues with math and she isn't helpful by any means. She wastes class time by making students figure out problems on their own and demeaning them when they don't get it. I had to teach myself all of the material for countless hours per week to pass. 75% of the class dropped out. This is the worst math prof.

Coming from someone who Loves math, she is a great teacher. But you reeally need to do your homework in the textbook, which I never bought I just used the one from the library, and the ALEKS homework, which was very helpful because it explains. She is very quick with how she teaches, but has a good point: You must practice to understand.

professor sexton was a hard teacher. honestly, i did not agree with her teaching style but that is just my opinion. in math the professor should explain problems to you in order for you to do your homework. her method was opposite she made us figure out the problems for ourselves which i found extremely frustrating. if u like a challenge, take her.

She makes it impossible to not get atleast a C in her class not her fault her teacher is so-so bc there so much to do in very little time as long as you do all the ALEKS when due and i suggest do extra credit for it too you will for sure get atleast a C bc of her grading structure

She isnt a bad teacher but her work load is intense. You need to get a tutor because a calculator..toss it out the window, you need to know formulas. Keep your semester light for this one. Aleks is easy but useless come time of the test. Probably going to rettake it and it wont be with her.

Terrible professor if you cannot self-teach. Expects you to learn 75% of the course material using ALEKS and textbook. Discourages questions, gets frustrated if you can't grasp material immediately. ALEKS is the site you have to use to pass her class, but it teaches totally different formulas than in class. Was failing within first two weeks.

So much work. She expects you to do hours of work for the textbook problems, the aleks hw which literally takes at least 3 hours, reading and making flashcards from the textbook. she assigns hw on stuff we didnt learn yet and gets mad when you dont do it right. difficult teacher.

Do not take her class she's a bad teacher. She's so unclear about the material and she give way too much homework. She'll assign bookwork online hw and she'll make you read a chapter in one night. If you don't have time to do 10 hours of work for one class than drop it before it's too late. She only goes over certain material during class and even said one time "even if we didn't go over it in class if it's in the book your responsible for it." She also freaks out about every little thing.

Ms. Sexton is a good dedictaed teacher, although the things she teaches are extremely hard she makes it as easy as possible to make sure that you understand the material, she is in the fight with you to pass the class, complete her assignments and you are guaranteed an A and a true understanding of the material. i have no idea what in the world the person below me is talking about. DROP THIS CLASS NOW! she makes it nearly impossible to get an A. She only gives 3 tests (which are midterms) and she constantly is "class participation grades" which are nothing more than homework. If youre not a dedicated student, leave!

Take statistics with Mrs. Sexton! She makes it very easy to get an A. If you don't know something she will give you extra help, all you have to do is make an appointment. Also the tests are easier than the problems you work on in class! Just stay up to date with your homework and go to class and you'll do fine!

She thinks she is doing a good job on teaching the class, yet doesnt help answer any questions. In a class of 33 people only 3 passed one of which took the class in the prior semester. She shows frustration when you do not understand something which leads you to not asking any questions at all. In a nut shell, she is horrible.

I was 100% committed to doing all the work in this class, but she just isn't a good teacher. Doesn't welcome q's and actually shows annoyance when you don't understand things. I got a tutor because she was giving us HW on chapt. we didn't yet get to in class....consistently! So its not just about working hard because I DID. I dropped this class.

Doesn't welcome questions in class, expects you to email her about it. I can't learn math through email! Gives entire chapters for HW, ALL info we didn't go over..She realized this after month 2!
