You learn Visual Basic in this class. The biggest issue with this class was the amount of differentiation the professor had from the book when teaching. Given the course material, it made trying to refresh on concepts using the book very challenging. He also took a long time to grade the few assignments in class which is an issue as well.

Worst professor I have ever had. A complete idiot who has no idea what he's doing. He is incapable of teaching snd so doesn't even try. Class is spent doing pointless group activities that teach nothing and taking 20 point quizzes. If it's even possible I think I know less about MIS than before taking the class. Avoid taking him if possible.

Dr. Tomblin might be the worst professor at Marshall University. He's a complete idiot who is incapable of teaching and seems to know this, so he doesn't even try. Instead, he assigns useless group activities that teach nothing and gives a quiz every week! If its possible I think I may actually know less about MIS since taking him

Worst class I have ever taken in my life. He does not grade material until the end of the semester so there is no way of knowing where you stand in the class. Often goes on irrelevant tangents in class. He holds you to the very last second of class in fear of getting in trouble. Did not learn one thing in this class.

20 question quiz EVERY week, even on exam weeks. Very very tough class. He tries to be nice, but it's way too hard for what it should be. He makes the material confusing and unclear.

This professor is a joke. It takes well over a month for him to grade assignments. We are just a couple weeks from the end of the semester and I have no idea how I stand in the class. We are still learning the most basic concepts. Avoid him if possible, but unfortunately he is the only one who teaches many of the MIS courses.

Lucky to get a graded paper back within a week. Completely useless in terms of helping you understand a subject.

Really nice guy. He wants you to learn. Unfortunately he isn't that good at teaching. His examples are confusing and the class is boring. He uses language that is really confusing which makes the material harder to understand. The assignments are really hard but he gives you a study guide for the exams that is VERY helpful.

This professor defines unorganization. He stumbles and trips over terminology, which makes it that much harder to understand. It takes at least two weeks for exam / assignment results to be returned, if not longer.

He is a nice guy. He just can't teach. He knows his stuff but couldn't teach you how to make a peanut butter sandwhich if he had youtube to help him. I wouldn't take him again if he wasn't the only one to teach the class. Stay away as much as possible. Tests are impossible. You have to read the book to have a chance...even then it's tough!

Professor Tomblin is the most unorganized professor at Marshall! The class went off on so many tangents that it was hard to keep up. You also might as well read the book because he cannot explain things very well. I would suggest another professor for this class.

Nice guy, but can't teach. He tries, but uses terrible examples, explains things very poorly, gives us sample PHP scripts to use for help/reference, but they always have errors in them! Never shows how the code actually works, just makes us look at the code and never see it actually work. That's how I learn programming - by seeing it function.

DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER. He loses assignments and never responds to your emails or messages sent on WebCT. He is a nice guy, but when you confront him about an assignment he lost, he tells you he will look for it and never does. MIS is actually very important--don't take Tomblin so you can learn something!

We had 3 assignements, a midterm, a late in-class assignment and a final. You had to be there to learn the stuff and all you did was write programs for grades, no tests or anything, real hit or miss. Boring class though, I'm so bored in it now.
