Comment:
This class was difficult due to the course content, but Yoder does not do a very good job teaching in the slightest. He gives you group work and expects you to learn and master the material from that and that only. Also he never calculated our final grades until the last day of class. It isnt fun worrying about your grade every day of the semester

I personally felt like I taught myself a lot of the material that I learned. Most of the work is in the form of group experiments during class. Homework assigned pretty regularly and quite often in the form of a written paper. He gives a lot of partial credit and occasional extra credit. Also allows "cheat sheet" on exams, which is very helpful.

I really enjoyed Dr. Yoder. He is a stand up guy and made the class fun to attend. He gave extra credit for just showing up for class and everything is group work aside from tests. However, you do have a lot of writing assignments. The papers aren't difficult, but take a long time to write. He gives a lot of partial credit on tests too.

Yoder teaches the material clearly, especially all of the math behind it all. His grading is not hard (Gives ALOT of partial credit), and you get a cheatsheet for the tests! Peircey's grading is rough though, and the papers are incredibly long. I recommend him because he is a caring and very thorough teacher. DON'T GET THE TEXTBOOK!

I hate physics, but I liked this class. It was a hybrid lecturelab, so it was long, but Dr. Yoder was really helpful. All work, minus the tests, is group work, so you better like and get along with your group. Yoder can explain things very well! He has attendance points, and random clicker quizzes, but the quizzes are also group if you wish.

This class was horrible. I spent hours upon hours teaching myself material that I could never comprehend. He wouldn't respond to emails nor act like he wanted to help. Very poor quality and I learned absolutely nothing. I recommend another professor for Physics because you aren't "smart" in physics you won't succeed. Very sad.

Did not teach. Handouts and activities were done in class but information was self taught.Creating a study group outside of class was the only way to learn the info. The tests were nothing like the information he spoke of. The tests were always much harder than his worksheets. You could never be prepared. I worked hard and feel relieved to have a B.

His class is a joke. I've worked hours on end to teach myself in this class. If it weren't for all the extra points, I would not have a B in the class. I have barely managed to scrape a B, but I have learned virtually nothing. So glad Physics 2 is not dependent on the concepts for this course, or I would be retaking the class.

he's an okay teacher, willing to help if you ask for it but you mostly teach yourself or your group members. hands out a lot of worksheets but you have plenty of class time to do them. tests can be confusing.

If you take this class, be prepared to work for the grade. I learned some things I didn't know, and overall he is helpful and a good teacher. But sometimes he rambles, and can be boring. Tests sometimes take the material in a new way, making them hard. He gives study guides that help. Gives lots of little points that can help your grade.

One of the worst teachers I've ever had. He does not return emails then is rude if you resend them. Does not lecture. Only gives out worksheets. Expects you to know everything. Tests are extremely difficult, only 3 questions and some of it is nothing you did in class.

He is a useless teacher. You learn absolutely nothing in class. His teaching methods are horrible and his tests are over new material. His lectures are boring and he repeats himself all the time. He is rude and inconsiderate. He doesn't reply to your emails. DON'T TAKE ANY OF HIS CLASSES!!! Useless. Pointless.

Pretty useless as a teacher. Hes a pretty cool guy outside of teaching though. You will go into the class and learn little to nothing. He doesn't really go over stuff, expects you to learn 95% of the material while he gives you 5% of it. Tests are not close to what you do in class. Yoda is not a teacher but he is intelligent. Won't answer questions

He is the WORST TEACHER EVER!!!I am a straight A senior chemistry major and he is the WORST teacher I have ever had.He does not teach very good.As a matter of fact, he doesn't teach at all.He kind of outlines what you need to teach yourself and then he tests you over something totally different.BTW, attendence is mandatory! It counts for 100 pts!

I don't understand why everyone rated him good. He's probably the worse professor I have taken. He puts new material on the tests that is basically a surprise. So you pretty much don't have a clue what to study for. It's easy to get a good grade because of the group tests which I hated. But its hard to get an A unless you have had physics

Great teacher for physics - new material on tests, which is frustrating, but you retake the tests in groups the next day, equal to a third your test grade, so it works out ok. Covers material slowly and assigns many worksheets completed as groups in class to ensure comprehension. Very helpful.
