Professor Barrios can really teach. She doesn't just lecture, she explains, demonstrates, and really gets deep into the subject. She won't let you get away with shallow responses. She helps you learn in a very supportive and encouraging way. If you want to really master the material, Professor Barrios will be there for you.

You need to read a lot of articles. She is really challenging teacher. By the way, you have 3 times to improve your grade - Portfolio 1, 2, and final paper about leadership. If you are international student, be aware about grammar error.

As a graduate student, I have to say Barrios is the ONLY professor I have that has challenged me, mentally. Every other class feels like its just too "easy", but Barrios makes you THINK, makes you write, and makes you WANT to learn. Her lectures and assignments are provocative and insightful. I actually feel like a grad student in her class. A++!!

I took Prof. Barrios class in 1999 and I still remember it. She is one of the best teacher I have ever had. She knows how to make the material relevant, interesting and fun.

I was not at all interested in org theory before this class. Dr. Barrios is one of Chico State's most outstanding professors. Material presented in class was most relevant, and I always felt comfortable approaching her wit questions and comments.

Sharon Barrios is an intellectual genius. Just beware that each week you will have a 4 page, single spaced reflection/analysis due. Her readings are what you'd expect in a grad school course - tough - but she goes over them in thorough detail and fosters rich discussion. I highly recommend her!

I took Org. Theory with Barriors and it was my favorite PA class of all time. Sure she is demanding and if you think you did an A paper you may end up getting a B however she is reasonable and helpful. Her readings are great we were the Republic, The Prince etc. It was very interesting.

Last comment couldn't be any more inaccurate. As someone who often opposed her, I can attest that she enjoys differences in ideology. Of course, you can't just have an opinion without discussing your opinion and *why* you believe that. You must question her AND yourself. Isn't that teaching at a college level? Do the work, you'll be fine.

Difficult b/c readings are political philosophy, tests are case analysis of policy failures. Attendance!! Does get on soapbox..Oh Lord! But, her interest in public good is genuine. It was a very easy class, but she really shoves her politics in your face which can be very annoying, especially because she does not give both sides of the story in her liberal political rants that can sometimes last a whole class period. The class was easy though.
