To be honest, this class will make you want to kill yourself. Journalism majors have to take it and she's the only one that teaches it though, so make the best of it. Don't read the book - you won't be tested on it. All you can do is hope to get a good beat partner, otherwise you're screwed.

Love the lady, dread the class. She can be very unclear about what she expects for assignments, but tries to make herself accessible and approachable to students. Tests are dumb. Or rather they made me feel dumb. I think I'd rather go drinking with her than take a class with her.

She likes to hear herself speak. Worked at a newspaper for like 3 years in the '70s yet thinks she is a journalism expert. Cares about students but classes can be a bore. I got As - just read the assignments and take notes to stay awake
