I thought I was going to get a good grade because I did not miss one class. There are quizzes every week and my average was an A. I ended up getting a B- in the class. Apparently the grade is based on the midterm and the final. You better know every short story in and out if you want to get an A.

He was great! He knew what he was talking about, and he facilitated discussions. He did mark off if you talked in class or not, so talk. Very reasonable, just had to ask him if you had a problem. Not too much work, just keep up with the readings, listen to what he says and study the author's names for tests. Final wasn't too bad.

Wow, dude shoulda paid better attention! I really got a lot out of this class. I think most of us did. The journal's kinda lame but it made me think. Haurin is the kind of teacher I wish I had more of. He obviously loves what he does. Ignore that angryhead who said he plays favorites. Probably reads nothing but cereal boxes!

You dont know which stories he will quiz you on, then you sit in class and listen to ****s talk about the stories like it matters. Only way to get a decent grade is waste 12 hours writing journal entries for the midterm and final, and sucking up to him in class. Shows favoritism to whiny suck-up girls. Learned nothing all semester.

dont take this class if u dont like to read...otherwise i highly recommend it. mr. haurin is a funny, excellent prof. despite the occasional lateness. and a little eye candy in the classroom sure doesnt hurt.
