He is an amazing man. He actually cares about his students and wants everyone to do well. He really helped me do well on my final. Sometimes classes were long but good information. Overall I would take him again and would tell others to as well.

Thelen was one of the best professors I've had a Hofstra. The export import class was very similar to real life. I felt like his work was practical for a business professional, and I learned a lot even though I hated doing it in the moment!

Thelen's lectures are extremely detailed. His PowerPoint presentations, not so. PAY ATTENTION TO WHAT HE SAYS BECAUSE EVERY LITTLE DETAIL WILL BE ON THE TEST. He's ridiculously detailed,I can't express this enough. Go to every single class, or you won't do well. He sometimes comes off as a little dominatingdisregard this. Also somewhat attractive.

Dr. Thelen is great. He gives you a good sense of what international business is without much of a "pro-business" feel or bias. His classes are relatively easy to follow and interesting. Talk to him, make a conversation - it can only do you good.

Don't buy the textbook. Professor Thelen is one of my favorite professors at Hofstra. He has entertaining lectures and is fun to converse with if you get the chance. Study for his tests cause they can sometimes be challenging.But its fun in class because he in clever ways has you practice your knowledge while in the course,not just by tests + memos

I got an A in this class, but it wasn't worth the hassle of this man. He didn't even know my name, yet was rude to me on several occasions. Gives 50 question (short answer/essay type questions) review sheets before exams with only 10 of them on the actual exam. Studied for 15 hours for the first exam and only pulled an 86.

Attendance was taken but there was no participation % to the grade. Per syllabus, 2 unexcused absences will result in a penalty to their final grade. We had a couple of papers, 5 min presentation (stopwatch on his pc), and a group project (marketing plan. He was easy, nice. Easy A if you put in the effort. Lots of interesting class discussions.

Amazing professor. Class is like an open discussion, very interesting and times always flies by. Thelen is very amiable and easy to talks to. plus he always managed to bring his wife and kids into discussions which i found too cute.

He cannot manage his own class schedule. He lets the students "manage" their own time with the projects. When asked about them at the end of the semester, he acts offended and surprised that we did not manage our time well. Class lecture was ok, but the way of "do the assignments on your own time" blows.
