Comment:

The professor is good, HOWEVER he tremendous amount of work and his lecture gets really boring. You have to summarize every chapter even though we don't read the book (quite unnecessary). Midterms and final consists of 10 essay questions and one marketing presentation based on survey and using . if you wanna sleep in his class don't take his class.

Comment:

The group projects are a pain, and the midterm and final essay sections are pretty labor-intensive. However, he is very smart and a fair grader. He also is understanding and wants his students to succeed. A challenging, but worthwhile class!

Comment:

Very good professor with straightforward grading criteria. Took as a summer session class and it consisted of two group presentations (ppt only), a 20 page research paper, a 5 min solo presentation, and class participation based off of reading articles he provided. Doable and as long as you show you put in effort he isn't a tough grader. Recommend!

Prof. is kind, but it is very hard to concentrate in his lectures because he speech's in flat tone and has a very low voice. Even his accent is a little weird. Be ready for Team Project but until now he has never graded anyone less then 47 out of 50.

Comment:

One of the best professor in Hofstra. Lots of work, but you will be surprised how much you have learned through his tests and group project. Makes you put in lot of hours but very worth it. He respects his students and totally treats each individual students as a valuable student of his. Very rare professor that deeply cares about his students.

Professor Yoo is a nice teacher. I have learnt a lot in his class. Although we faced some problems during the project, he was very willing to help. Also, we could earn extra credit by finishing some surveys which helped us to get a better grade.

Do not choose Dr. Yoo for MKT309. I mean he is a good guy in general. But when you see people who in M.S. marketing but chose different professors for their MKT309 were having great fun in Miami, San Francisco, or all other fancy places all along the semester. And you sit in the lab facing your work. Oh, the lab is air conditioned, which is nice

The class was loaded with busy work & lot of group projects, a final which consisted of 2 Essay type questions and 75 mc and yes/no- also a marketing project which had to be 15 pages or more. The positive part of this class is that the prof. is nice and approachable, gives lots of extra credit project (do them!!)- & gives 3 wks for final (start it)

Professor Yoo's class was very demanding. 4 group projects, a 15 page paper, and a final, do not make for an easy semester. Everything is very time consuming so I would not take this class with another difficult class. He isn't very clear on his grading system, either. The great aspect of it is there is a ton of extra credit available!

It's a bit of a boring class, but Yoo is a super nice guy. Additionally, the other option for capstone is a hard grader. Yoo is a pretty generous grader as long as he can see you put in some sort of effort.

First off, Mkt 144 is difficult. SPSS can be difficult; especially to the length this class uses it. Yoo does his best to help students appreciate SPSS and the group project was interesting at times. The exams appear difficult but you'll be surprised on how fairly he grades. Only thing that can be really challening is Yoo's accent but he's nice. :)

Class can be boring but it isn't bad. Yoo is a nice guy; but the language barrier can be somewhat difficult at times. Class is very easy in the beginning which is all theory-type lectures. When SPSS and Statistics enters the picture, pay attention to how he solves examples and you will be fine. Group project is a pain but we have ample time for it.

What are you people talking about. His english is perfectly good. He is one of the few professors that actually teaches the material and he's a nice guy. My only complaint is the group project which last the entire semester and he was a bit unclear about what was required in the beginning of the semester. I'd recommend him for 144.

this guy is a joke. his powerpoints have blanks in them and the only way to know the fill-in answers is to attend class during that lecture. Not to mention he goes 100mph through class lectures and requires usage of programs he doesn't even know how to use himself! AVOID IF POSSIBLE

Easy A if you take good notes. He posts all powerpoints on blackboard. Term Project is long but he curves well. He gives you extra pnts for attendance. I'm not going to lie boring class so take it in the summer.
