Comment:

Professor Johnston is one of my favorite accounting professors. Her taxation class was not difficult if you show up to class and put in a little bit of effort. She is extremely sweet and easily accessible outside of class.

Comment:

There are two parts to the class, the tests and the online homework. As long as you do the homework, you can get an A getting B's and C's on tests because she gives around 50 bonus points. Prof. Johnston really cares about students, and she's very nice, but be prepared to study pretty hard for the tests. She does post study guides and reviews tho.

Professor Johnston is an amazing teacher. Yeah she may get confused sometimes but she truly does care about each one of her students. If you go to class, pay attention and do the homework you should be fine.

I learned most of this class through the homeworks, there are 2 a week and not that bad. She is a great prof but goes over your head sometimes. Probably the best prof for 201, and honestly she's so sweet and nice.

Professor Johnston is one of the nicest professors around. She replies to emails quickly and is very flexible with her office hours. The class is challenging, but the PowerPoint slides and LearnSmart cover the material effectively.

Sheila is a nice lady, although class is very unnecessary, you basically have to teach yourself with the homework. She isn't the best teacher and doesn't really explain things very well but you can find everything you need on the internet or on the learnsmart modules and through the homework.

Comment:

Professor Johnston is one of the most approachable teachers I have encountered in academia thus far! It's best practice to do your reading before class, otherwise you'll be lost during lecture. Print out the slides and take detailed notes in order to do well. Do all Connect content, even the ungraded portions. It will be on the exams!

Sheila is a professor who is really trying, and she cares a lot. She isn't very clear all the time and you really don't need to go to the lecture to succeed (it might be best not to go) do the learnsmart and read the book and power points (all online). Grade is made up of 4 exams and homework. Nice lady, she does her best to help students

Professor Johnston tries to keep the class engaged by conducting exercises with worksheets. Most of the test material is covered on her powerpoints, and she puts pretty much all materials for the entire semester on Blackboard.

Johnston's class was very straightforward. The homework is one-third of your grade, and it is quite easy to get a 100 on every assignment. Her tests are not as tricky as some have mentioned. Use her study guides as well as the chapter outlines and you should be fine.

Super sweet lady that wants everyone to succeed. However, she isn't the greatest teacher. I learned most from doing the homework. You pretty much get an automatic 200 points just by doing the homework and there are 4 exams worth 100 points each. The homework helps your grade out a lot.

Professor Johnston has been my favorite professor. She wants you to do well and is extremely helpful. You need to read the material before going to class or you won't get much benefit from her lectures. There is online homework for each chapter, but you get unlimited tries to get a 100 if you fail. Overall, highly recommended professor.

Online homework and tests aren't that bad. She is a nice lady and I know accounting is already a boring subject but the class was so bland that I could hardly even pay attention and had to re-teach myself a lot of things. Going to class isn't mandatory.

Comment:

Makes a difficult subject manageable. Four total tests (each100pts) and 200 points of Learnsmart&online HW. You will get 100% on HW if you do it as she gives additional points. Tests are somewhat difficult but overall very manageable. Very sweet professor who cares about her students. Easy class if you try! Would recommend!

Professor Johnston is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Few professors are as patient and willing to explain things if someone isn't understanding the material. In almost every class, we worked through example problems that really helped the material sink in. She made sure everyone was able to do the work. Would take another class with Johnston!

Very nice older lady and an easy A if you attend class. She does a great job of teaching the material in class and provides worksheets and book homework and online homework. If you attend class and do all the assignments she provides you should have no issue obtaining an A or B in this class. Very kind lady I highly recommend taking her class.
