I have taken many a classes with Dr. Wolbrink, and while she is a very nice person & very knowledgeable prof, the difficulty of her classes made me want to drop out of college a couple times. But she is super helpful and is easy to find if you have a question. Even sets up study sessions for her tests.

While I really enjoyed her class, her as a professor was not ideal. She is very knowledgable, and I learned a lot from her. She has had a lot of experience as a historian, and I respect her for that. But, I found her to be condescending on multiple occasions. Don't think about asking a question because she will think you're challenging her.

Dr. Wolbrink is one of the best professors in the History department. She truly loves history and teaching it, and will do everything possible to help you as long as you work for it. Insane amounts of reading, hard assignments, but if you get the A you deserved it. One of my favorite professors here at Drury, and look forward to her classes!

Dr. Wolnrink is helpful, cheery, and a great teacher. She loves what she does and will go out of her way to help her students. She is clear on what she wants and gives you plenty of time to prepare for tests, papers, really anything in her class.

She is very very hard. You have to write a ton of papers and she grades your paper like a graduate student. This is only a level 200 class but it ended up being more work than what it is worth and was very diffucult. I would not take her!

She seemed nice at first, but expected too much out of a GLST class. I had her read my last 3 papers prior to turning them in, & still did not get an A on any of them. The tests had too much information to study for, & she kept forgetting most of us were not history majors. I got a decent grade, but I left the class hating European women history.

I ended up with a decent grade, but I worked for it. She assigns massive amounts to read, and expects you to remember every piece. There were times I had to go to her since I was having problems. I even had her read my final paper twice before turning it in. She was nice enough to do that. I think she favors certain students.Def. go to her for help

Not a very good teacher of history although she knows it well, more interested in making things difficult. Really not into teaching, more interested in proving what she knows. Superficial...seems a bit judgmental. Quizzes on irrelevant information. Appears fun at first, but then wears you down.

Tests are extremely, extremely hard to study for when you have a life outside of school. Expectations are too high for a 200 level course.

Before I shared my thoughts on Ms. Wolbrink I wanted to read what others have written. I take this seriously, my conclusion is simple, I worked my you-know-what off in her class. I was made to feel unworthy to be in her class. Yes, I am in my late 40's, guess what? She reminded me students in my age group do not do very well at all. Wonder why.

I am an art student with a 3.9 GPA and Wolbrink had the nerve on several occassions to outright question my academic ability because "didn't I only draw"? She is a very closed minded and prejudice person. I would recommend avoiding her at a all costs unless you are a freshman/sophomore history student. Otherwise, she immediately makes assumptions.

Wolbrink is an extremely intelligent and passionate teacher. I took this class on a whim- I had no prior interest in heresy and witchcraft in early modern Europe, but she really brought the material to life. We looked at primary source accounts and woodcuts that added a personal aspect to our studies. The class was hard, but totally worth it!

I graduated from Drury 3 years ago this May and still have fond menories of Dr. Wolbrink. She is not easy but thorough and helpful. There is a person on this site with a personal grudge against Shelley compounded by some obvious psychological problems. Still no need to badmouth an excellent prof. We luv Shelley :)

For those of you whom have never had Shelley as an instructor, one word..don't. If you don't regret it at first, SHE will make you regret it later especially if you are an older student. Yes, age discrimination still exists, thanks to Shelley.

very narrow-minded adult, lacks interpersonal skills. She definitely is an egostistical human being that will someday be treated they way she has treated her students.
