Prof Michael was accessible and thorough - I learned a LOT from her. She listened to and responded fairly to challenges. She was accessible by email most days and put a lot into providing assistance/guidance. She expects a lot but gives a lot of encouragement and feedback as well. Tough class but worth sticking with through the end!

Mrs. Shellie is absolutely AMAZING! I took her online speech class and had so much fun. By far the best online class and professor I have ever had at Volstate, out of the 15 or so classes that I have taken. You will have to do some work for a good grade but I would recommend taking her because you will enjoy the class so much!

Would not recommend. Not a hard class, but she won't help you at all. She moves deadlines until you don't know when it's due then if you need to turn it in late? Well, sorry, better luck on your next assignment.

She is a tough grader, you can do an assignment its minor things wrong with it and she will give you a 0% tell you to redo it and take off 20 points because its late. So either way your receiving a bad grade for that assignment. I've always been an A student but I'm barely passing her class. She is rude and isn't good with communicating politely.

Take advantage of her helpfulness. She is a bit different and may seem less approachable than she is. Chances are she likes you and wants to help. Super wonderful lady with great integrity. She is what a professor should be. The class can be difficult, it's college... get over it. Ask for help, be genuine, and you wont fail.

Ms. Michael is a great teacher and person. She genuinely cares about her students success in the class and is very approachable if you have any questions or concerns. The key to making a good grade in the class is to not be afraid to ask her questions! She's very understanding and considerate.

Professor Michael is encouraging, helpful, available, responds quickly, and is organized and easy to understand. She works hard and expects her students to work hard. Follow the assignment instructions and read everything. You will learn a lot about yourself in this class. Make the effort, get a great grade! I've also taken her English 1020 .

Professor Michael is the best! This class is challenging and takes a lot of hard work but this professor is very encouraging, understanding, and helful. She works hard and expects her students to work hard. This is a class that you will take away valuable learning that will help you with all other classes and to write great papers!

Very rude when speaking with her 1 on 1. Don't yawn or you will get stared down until you apologize... Quizzes each week, midterm, final, and a few speeches. The class was kinda tough, and she didn't make it any better... Used the textbook for the quizzes, and that's about it. Her Powerpoints were not helpful at all so don't expect to study those.

Ms. Michael was a wonderful teacher! My advice to you would be to not take this class at 8 a.m. You'll have weekly online quizzes, sometimes two in a week. Exams are not easy by any means. The speeches aren't painful as long as you're satisfied with being assigned to a random group for a speech. It was interesting material, and you'll learn plenty!

Professor Michael was my best online teacher. She was quick to respond to emails. She made the class interesting and doable. Her tests were hard though. She knows what she is talking about and is able to relate that to you even through an online class. I definitely recommend her.

Ms. Michael is very helpful & understanding. She is always there to help if you have any question about the papers or if you are having a hard time. If you do the work & do not procrastinate, all of her assignments lead up to the final paper. She also gives extra credit. By far on of the best professors I've had a VolState. I highly recommend her!

Prof. Michael has high expectations, but this is college. She is more than willing to help anyone who puts forth effort. Her tests can be tough, just because she is a bit confusing in class sometimes. Overall, I learned a lot from her class and appreciated her higher standard for public speaking.

I LOVE MS. MICHAEL! She was one of my first professors at Volstate and she was such a great educator! I took her intro to film class and it was definitely fun and easy! The textbook is used, and you have to really participate in the quizzes and the discusses. She does have a final and midterm but there are easy as well. Take her for an elective! :)

Shellie Michael is everything an educator should be! She is by far the best teacher I have ever had. She is very fair with her grading, and when you do get something wrong she doesn't just tell you it is wrong but she tells you why and how to fix the problem. She truly cares about her students and their success. She is amazing!

Absolutely amazing professor! If you pay attention to her corrections, and ask for help when needed, you will do well. She answered e-mails and posts even when she wasn't expected to be available. Truly cares about her students! She was an inspiration to me, and very accommodating when I needed an extension. Will take her again for Speech. <3
