Great Class! Loved Shaneyfelt. Took on a whim with a friend and we actually had fun studying together for the exams, which are very manageable if you study thoroughly. Will def take her again. Great lectures, very engaging and interesting, sincere and dedicated prof. Attendance def essential.

Just 3 tests (very minimal work), but she grades very subjectively and it is very difficult to do extremely well. If you study and go to class, definitely and easy B+/A-. Overall not a fan, though, mostly because you can know everything backwards and forwards and not get an A on her test.

Professor Shaneyfelt is great! Her lectures are very clear, interesting, and easy to understand, even for someone like me who has never taken Art History before. She provides a review sheet before every exam that helps you study. The tests aren't terribly hard, but you do need to prepare in order to get an A. Looking forward to taking her again.

Great Prof, Great Class, Great way to end my 4 years in college. I'd taken her classes before and was waiting for this one. Yes, you have to study and prepare thoroughly for exams and she will expect you to. Not an easy A, but this is Vanderbilt--if you are interested in Art History, her classes are a dependable choice.

For an Honors writing seminar, this was a really interesting class. I didn't know what to expect having never taken an Art History class before but she was very engaging and really supportive with our projects and presentations.

Although Professor Sheri is very sweet, she's a very tough grader and expects perfection, even if you've never take art history classes before. For a class advertized as discussion-based, it was mostly long lectures, unfortunately. I felt that I was being graded more on grammar than my actual arguments, and I didn't learn as much as I wanted to.

Don't be fooled. I have a high GPA and was looking to take this class for an easy A as an AXLE credit. This class was far from it. Filled with Art History majors, someone who isn't interested in the topic will quicky be bogged down by her high expectations on tests and high amounts of memorization for each test.

I'm an engineering student and shaneyfelt's art history class has been my favorite class so far. She is an amazing lecturer and really cares about what she's teaching, but you have to show up if you want to pass. She puts powerpoints online that helps and tells you exactly whats going to be on the test. I had 3 tests all pretty easy and no final

Lectures crystal clear and logical. Minimal work outside of class except for some memorization before exam. Prof. Shaneyfelt is extremely helpful outside of class. Def the highlight of my semester. She also looks a bit like Dita von Teese... Just sayin.

My favorite teacher at Vandy. She is a difficult graders and expects a lot from her students but she genuinely wants them all to do well. Amazing lectures (no computers), and only 3 tests all weighted equally. Don't have to do the reading but you MUST go to class. She's super knowledgable, loves her topic, makes classes interesting, she's the best!

She's great. I'm pretty sure she single handedly knows everything about her field and she loves to share it. I'm an art history major so i do have some bias but I much prefer modern art and she's capable of making 17th century art absolutely fascinating.

Shaneyfelt is my favorite professor at Vanderbilt, hands down. She is very engaging during lectures, so the time flies. She's super straight forward about tests (gives a clear study guide) and your entire grade is based on 3 equal exams and attendance. If you go to class you don't have to open the textbook. High expectations but she's the BEST!

Phenomenal lecturer. Seriously. This is what it's all about, people. You MUST attend class and MUST take good notes and study like mad for exams, but totally worth it. She really engages the class. Learned so much.

Great professor. Usually keeps class interesting, which is important because going to class and taking notes during the lecture is pretty much essential to do well in the class. Outside work virtually nonexistent, and tests aren't too bad as long as you memorize a ton of information about different paintings.
