She was wonderful. Very sweet and willing to help. Your grade is based off of four tests (the lowest one is dropped) and two papers. As long as you use the study guide, do well on the papers and don't turn them in late, it's a pretty easy class.

Grade consists of 2 papers(100), Map Quiz(50), 3 Exams(300), E-port(10), total points: 460. There was 10 possible points of extra credit. Teacher is old and does not use Canvas hardly at all which can be annoying. Due dates are strict on papers, tests are mostly multiple choice. study guides are provided. Class consists of lecture/ discussions.

Sheri was a nice teacher. She doesn't expect much from you and you don't really have any assignments but a few test and two papers. Her lectures can sometimes be boring and hard to understand. She did give a lot many extra credit opportunities.

Comment:

Dr. Sowards is a great teacher. The material she covered was sometimes difficult to understand. Some of the readings are very old but an essential part of history. This class isnt about being easy, its about understanding ideologies and how we got to where we are today. There is a lot of class discussions and it helps to keep up on current events

If the class is quiet Shari gets frustrated so please participate! And try to attend all her extra credit symposiums. Pay attention to her lectures and study lots before exams because she does not allow you to bring notes in with you.

Nice professor. I had gotten sick mid way through the semester and missed several weeks and she worked with me. I was able to pass the class with a very high grade. Definitely would take another class from her.

This was not at all a difficult class. As long as you pay attention and take notes, it's not hard to pass at all. She can sometimes go off on tangents and lost my attention at times, but not constantly. Not an easy A as most of the grading is based on the four tests, but its an easy pass it you at least try. The two papers are also way easy.

Old fashioned, hard-headed way of teaching. Doesn't let you know what to expect on exams which are mostly essay questions. Incomplete sentences or not answering in a Political Science way, she'll screw you. Text & lectures don't have anything to do with exam problems. Teaches at a graduate school level & expects you to answer the same way.

It's such a lie to go saying it's an easy A & tests are easy! She doesn't provide any study guides, or anything else to prepare you for the exams which are short essay answers for questions that ask for stuff irrelevant to the topic & not covered in lectures! I met some college admin employees who said they had to wd from her to avoid an F!

I find it hard to believe she gives a study guide for POLS 2100 whereas she refuses to for POLS 1100 calling the very plain & brief class outline a study guide! She refuses to let you know what she'll be asking for in the very hard, no mult. choice, essay-questions exam saying she'll be giving away the answers! Take POLS 1100 from someone else!

I enjoyed the class, Intro to Intnl Relations. If you GO to class, participate in conversations, read the text and do the three papers, you will do WELL in the class. She is very nice and even gives a study guide for the exams! Great teacher!

I don't know why other students give her a good rating, unless they're referring to her as a person; she sucks at teaching & is so hard-headed & play-by-the-book; she doesn't want to see students succeed & pass the course, because she never reviews or goes over what will be on the exams so the student knows what to study for

Shari is a very nic lady but her lectures are really boring. Also her tests are really hard they don't go by the book or even study guide she gives you. I wouldn't recommed this class. She has some other classes that are easy to pass. I would of just rathered her test actually went by the book

Her exams are not easy! 50% of your exam score is essay-type questions and she expects you to answer as if you'r a political science major! Her notes & lectures don't cover what will be on the exams! The very plain & brief class outline is what she calls a study guide!

Sheri is amazing! Her tests are easy and if you follow the study guide and attend class, you're set! She is so fun and I will miss her. Trying to find another class I can take from her. Highly recommend!

You don't need the text book, everything you need to know will be in class. If you want a good grade you better show up for class. No final and pretty reasonable papers. Can be a little dry but overall a good class.
