This class is tough, theres no way around it. See her after class and at office hours! She is one of the best professors at the school, but this class is brutal. Treat it like a job. I passed taking 4 other class and this ISN'T recommended, LOL. Be sure to Pray before every class quiz. Would take her again but only because of her, not the work.

I took Financial Accounting with Strickland which is a more basic course than she usually teaches. I learned a lot, but I also dedicated a good amount of time to her class. She wants students to put in the effort to learn. It is really hard to do well in her class without trying/dedicating time for practice. She is kind and funny, but challenging.

Do not go through UML for an accounting certificate to apply to their masters program. It was the biggest waste of time and money. I'm a very serious and organized student. During class I had isolated myself from friends and family for months to study and barely left my apartment. I got a D+. It's really not worth it. Don't do it to yourself.

She sucks at grading projects. Assignments have VERY vague directions then she marks off points for not doing it right. In class shes pretty funny and nice. I like her as a person but her grading is ridiculously hard. Points marked off on exams for spelling, using pen etc. It's hard to hate her as a person but very easy to hate her as a professor.

Take warning from the numerous 1's other students have rated on here. The Professor hates people and wants to fail everyone. No clue why she became a teacher. Take the class with someone else if you can. You will thank me.

AIS is a class you have to be prepared for and its no walk in the park. You're expected to read, take notes, and complete work by specific deadlines at a very high standard. The class tests your knowledge but also your fortitude. Passing alone takes an insane amount of effort. Professor Strickland is preparing you for the real world of accounting.

This class is everything you've heard about and more. Don't be the student that has been able to coast through his/her classes with minimal effort and expect to do it here. You have to be prepared for class or else she's going to call on you every time she asks a question. SUA is daunting but doable. Final is easier than first two exams.

Brooooooooo AIS is one tough class, and since shes the only teacher, youre screwed. Shes a wicked strict grader and if you don't do all the work to the T, shes taking points off. The SUA is the worst thing ive ever encountered. dont be a accountant

"Strickland" is certainly strict, and the class is downright awful. The grading criteria is unclear, and points are deducted at random. 75% of the class withdrew within the first week. I had a 4.0 GPA going into the class and barely passed with a C. You end up teaching yourself everything and the tests include material she never taught.

Sherre is a terrible professor. She does push you to learn, but she is mean, negative, imposes an extremely heavy workload and deducts points without reason. If you question her grading, she will threaten to fail you or simply insult you in front of the class. Avoid her like the plague! We all wish she would retire already!

Very strict prof. Be prepared to learn a ton of material in a short amount of time. Quizzes are always unannounced. Anything from her lectures, handouts, and book is fair game for the exams. Final part of the SUA takes more than 25 hours to finish. Need 60% or more on final and SUA to be able to pass. If you're willing to study you'll pass.

One of the toughest but most rewarding classes I have ever taken. The tests are difficult and the SUA can be daunting, but if you are serious about accounting and want to learn the material, she is a great professor. She really prepares you for the real world. Be prepared to put a lot of time in, but trust me it is all worth it in the end.

The course material is difficult as is, and the way this class is taught makes it even more difficult. Highly recommend choosing to take this with someone who teaches versus having students teach themselves. First class I've taken where you read the book front to back . Tests include minute details from appendices.

Sherre Strickland is by far the worst teacher I have ever had. She doesn't teach the class. Instead, you teach yourself the material, complete (graded) homework on that material, and then come to class to review your homework answers where she belittles and berates students openly for getting answers incorrect. The tests are outrageous.

Strickland is a very traditional professor so be prepared for a great deal of rigor and difficulty in the course. Some advice: Pay attention, be engaged, and challenge yourself to master course material. If you do these things, you will leave her class smarter and better prepared for career success.

Tests are very hard. Expect to spend a long time on Connect doing HW. Every class, students work in pairs for participation. Intimidating to communicate with and ask questions but she does care about the students. She is very old school so you need to work hard for an A.

Sherre Strickland lives up to her name, she's strict, tough, and a little intimidating at times. Had her for managerial accounting and she wasn't easy, about half the class withdrew, but as long as you do the online assignments and realize you'll have to put SOME effort in, you should be okay.
