Comment:

Textbook can be useful once you cover traversing, but it's useless before that. Don't buy the book he lists, find a previous edition. Chronis goes very fast over his handwritten notes, so copy just about everything you see and stop him if you see a mistake. EVERYTHING is weighed heavily, but I heard he scales. He's more helpful in labs.

Unfortunately you are stuck with him for both surveying and geomatics. The textbook is of no use so dont go out of your way to buy it. The test always has a curveball compared to the test review. No slides available for the class so attend class or else you wont have a clue whats going on. I still dont and I went to every class, so go to class!

Very difficult to understand. Goes at a fast pace and has a thick Greek accent. Make sure to attend every class, because if you don't there is no other way to understand the material. The book is not helpful at all. I only used it to do the homework problems. Work with other students-- it will make the course much easier!

Absolutely terrible, he degrades you in class and really doesnt care if you dont get it, he goes at his pace and only his pace and the textbook is of no help so if you get behind you are in trouble. overall just an awful guy.

Go to every class and take detailed notes. Can't read his handwriting? Ask him to clarify- he doesn't get offended. Be brave & ask questions. Feel free to ignore it if he says "You should know this," but he might be right. He will scale final grades. Chronis is pretty straightforward if you're a mature, invested student.

He is truly an awful professor. The material isn't all tat hard, it's just that he doesn't explain things at all, and if you ask a question, he will look at you like you are incredibly stupid (and he says it sometimes). The textbook is of NO help, and there are no tutors for the course. I wish UML would replace him.

Textbook is EXTREMELY unhelpful and this is a hard class but make sure to take good notes and follow every single one of his examples in class. Don't miss a single lecture! He is a helpful professor if you go to him. Always ask him about his quizzes and tests on the lecture preceding the quiz.

He rarely if ever will respond to your emails. He expects his students to understand new concepts, and he can be condescending if you ask him a question. Resources outside the class are limited so be sure to attend class and take notes. He moves very quickly. Quizzes and tests are overall fair. Just show up, shut up and do the homework.

He will never reply your emails. NEVER! :( HWs are mostly the same for every year. It takes time to get use to his accent and hand writing. Labs are so easy. They're just repetitive and boring.

Professor Stamatiadis is an intelligent person who wants everyone to pass his class. Take notes, do the homework, and you will do fine on the tests. The lab is hands-on and you can learn many real world applications of surveying.

Fast paced teaching, don't miss a class. Goes through the material in detail and gives many examples. Can be a tricky course if you don't grasp the concepts. Good professor, good class. Easy labs unless you miss a step, in which case you are going to be stuck at a computer for hours trying to guess how to use the software.

Surveying is a difficult class but stamatiadis is a good guy. you need to pay attention in class and take notes. Stamatiadis is a good teacher but the material is what makes him a hard teacher. he grades very fairly.

Had Chronis back in 00 & 01. He really hits the ground running with his class notes. He can fill 5 boards per class with those notes but everything you need to know is in there. Show up, take notes, ask questions and you will learn the subject! Good professor. Marc Maloof, Class of 03.

Don't miss a class. He talks really fast and covers a lot of material in one hour. Pay attention and he'll like you and help you when you need it. After he gets to know the class he can be extremely funny and he is easy to look at.

Comment:

He talks and writes very fast in class but he knows his stuff. I recommend not missing any of his classes since he gives a lot of info that cannot be found in the books + his notes are very helpful. He gives a lot of work so do it as soon as he assigns it so you don't fall behind.
