The pre-lab quizzes are incredibly hard and specific make sure to do the readings. She is very passionate and exciting with what she does. It is a hard class but if you put in the time it is easy. There are only pre-lab quizzes, lab notebook checks, and a group lab report at the end. It is important to keep a detailed notebook.

Good teacher, knows her stuff. Slides had nothing that was on the test though. Further ahead to read the book rather than study the slides. Figured that out way too late though. Plus, the homework is a great way to study for the tests.

you can get away with missing lecture. she really knows her stuff, and acts tough. i didnt think her tests were hard and her homework sets helped studying. she says you have to read the book in addition to her slides. i didnt do much reading and still got an A. seems like a great prof, but the material was redundant for me from high school.

I took this class in Winter '07 and it was split between Anandan and Elephant. I found the material to be interesting and she was a good lecturer. Also, her homework sets were quite helpful in reviewing the material. Overall, I most liked her poster project that you had to present to her. I'd definitely take another one of her classes.

exams were hard. i know people who studied for hours and hours and still were upset with the grades they got. so just study a lot, and look over homework questions because she uses those on exams. she's strict but sometimes she told amusing stories in lecture.
