Positives: 1. Clearly loves the field and is very passionate 2. Very approachable and friendly despite being an EXTREMELY accomplished researcher 3. Course takes a very practical project component (pray your group is good!). Good feedback Negatives: 1. Quite unstructured with some varying deadlines 2. Pros: - Takes interest in every student - Really helpful & approachable - Knows his stuff but is not arrogant. Instead he really wants you to learn. Cons: - Talks a LOT - Unorganized (expect to wait upto an hour for a scheduled meeting) - Assignments are poorly laid out - expects a lot from you (we had 3 things due during reading break!)

This person should NOT be teaching. Definitely a disgrace to any university. His personalities include inconsiderate, unhelpful, incapable of carrying a meaningful discussion, and very creepy. You will be wasting your time and money if you take a course with this guy.

Very interesting material. Lectures are clear but you have to do some reading on your own. Think about project before the classes start as you have to come up with something NEW! Take a look at the course website courses.ece.ubc.ca/518. You will learn process of conducting academic research and writing paper about it what is very useful. It is fun!

This is the worst prof I have ever had. His midterms were very insane and I don't even think Genius cannot do well on that. Average 30 something before scaling. His writing sucks and u better study on ur own than listening to his ****s.

This guy's midterm was extremely difficult. The questions were long and hard and on top of that there wasn't even enough time to finish. If you take it with him, don't expect to do well just by learning the lecture material. He actually expects you to learn more stuff not covered in lectures.
