My goodness this class was much harder than I imagined. I respect professor Gaggi very much and he is very kind. However I would try to avoid a class such as this one. He lectures a lot and we do not have a book for this class. I would definitely recommend studying the canvas notes if you do take him and not sleep in class even if he doesn't care.

Took him last fall for Renaissance Man. Great teacher, enjoyed the class very much. He clearly has a passion for history. Do the readings before class, take good notes on lectures, and this class will be a breeze.

I really enjoyed this class. All the material we covered was very interesting. The readings were very helpful to see a more complete picture of the Renaissance era. Keep good notes and the exams will be OK.

Gaggi is an excellent professor and I am glad I took his course. His lectures convey his passion for the subject, in this case , the Renaissance. He I said and forthcoming if you simply ask. I learned so much in his class that I can apply to my own life. Go to class, read the material before, and engage yourself,and you will really enjoy.

Dr Gaggi is fantastic. I love Humanities so every second in "Ren Men" (HUM 4938) was enjoyed for its useful, interesting and engaging material. Yes, you must work! Crit. history for understanding the present; I am a better student after taking the class. I'm well prepared for prepping grad-level studies now; feedback on writing extremely helpful!!

Honestly, the most boring lecturer. He doesn't really seem to stay on topic. I found that if I read the books (4 for my class which is a capstone) i didn't really need to go to class. Except for the reading quizzes. He never announces when he's going to give them and they're extremely random. But he's very understanding and helpful.

Prof Gaggi is the nicest man ever. However, he is SO boring. His lectures are him just sitting and talking at you. You need four books and BB printouts. There is A LOT of reading. The exams are short answer + one essay question so you have to know the material. Random quizzes on reading. Really, really nice, easy going guy, boring class.

Laid back, easy class. Nice guy. He'll help you if you ask. Lectures get boring because he repeats himself and talks the whole time. Keep up with the readings because he gives easy random unannounced quizzes every week. He's a stickler on grammar with the papers and he'll take points off for it. I would take him again.

On my top list for most boring, its a pretty laid back class though. He really doesn't care if you sleep. If you don't keep up with readings, paintings, and music you wont do well on the 2 exams he gives you. Thats all the grades were, 2 exams and a final test. Not many chances to do well. If you mess up on one test, then it's hard to get an A.

I earned a B through a lot of hard work in this "intro" class, he makes you fall asleep with his voice. You have to put a lot of outside effort into this class. Lacks a real ability to teach but tests arent as hard if you study. Hardest section is the music section. All but one test require essay.

I took this class to fulfill a humanities requirement, and it was a great surprise. He may be slightly boring when it comes to lecturing, but his scope of knowledge and taste in film is awesome! Not an easy class, but well worth it!
