If you lean conservative in your political beliefs, avoid him. Despite being in a math class he somehow always interjects his hate for Republicans and conservatives. If you proclaim to be a Trump supporter in his class, get ready to be mocked then enjoy your "D" grade. If you are a hardcore liberal then take his class. You will love him.

Homework is about 50% of your grade, a little each night. He seriously loves his students as if they were his own children. Hes also the funniest teacher I've ever had, very inspirational, and sometimes goes on a tangent. I hate math however he made it a possible class to be in.

It's been a while since I took Tom's classes but he is awesome. He is completely unconventional and it works. He loves his students and cares so much. You'll notice that quickly. He'll get everyone through that puts the effort in. Yes, the material is advanced. But, Tom makes it as enjoyable as possible.

Fun professor, very clear, makes up funny songs to help remember concepts, every student participates by trying to solve in class work. Daily homework, but not always collected. Great about letting you use old texts. Get ready to listen to music and hear social rants as you learn math. Fair tests:I would definitely take again! Wish he taught ma125!
