Very knowledgeable; knows what he is talking about. Passionate, funny, and inspiring. Pretty fair marker. Essays are a little tougher than exams. Is pretty clear about what he expects. A tad unhelpful and unapproachable regarding assignments; particularly outside of class. A little opinionated... Over all, good teacher. Would recommended.

Lessons were terrible. Other than spending time in the computer lab doing research with him occasionally entering the room, got absolutely nothing from his classes. 75% of us dropped out. If you have the misfortune to take his class, be prepared to spend the first ten minutes watching him try to figure out his iPad/overhead set-up.....

Simon is quite the character. You either love him or hate him. And he either loves you or hates you. Unfortunately I think I got the later, but I still did well in his class. Take his suggestions seriously, and try your best. He marks hard, so beware. If you get a B you're doing well. Plus he's kinda good looking, in a gawky way

VERY knowledgeable about Literature. LOVES what he's doing. If he suggests something about your essay, TAKE THE ADVICE! Even if it means changing your ideas. He's not looking for new ideas in essay, rather SUPPORTED IDEAS! Lots of research = good! Don't make silly mistakes, e.g. errors in essay format. Approachable!

I went to NWCC for one year and barely got a C in first year English with this guy. Now I go to a pretty highly ranked university and I got A's in both second year English classes here...doesn't add up in my opinion

He's a really good teacher and the essays aren't too bad, he'll really help you with them. The thing that I don't like is the impossible final. Maybe if he changed that it wouldn't be so hard. He is really nice though and honestly I find him pretty funny.

He is great! The class was so much fun. Whenever I write something I think of Simon. He does get angry at missed work or late assiments, but he is very fair in his marking. I dont know how he is for Eng 101, but for CRWR and for ENG 221 He was great.

Well he is very funny, don't you think he sounds like Willy Wonka? In a good way! I feel he favors people that do well in his class. Because I was doing badly and he was rude to me but then when I got 90% on an essay he was all nice and helpful. He tries though, he really does. Over all a nice guy! Just hard eng teacher

Gets annoyed with students. Ends class if people aren't on top of the readings. DOESN"T SCALE!!! Highest mark is sometimes a B+ mostly because he has unrealistic expectations of what can be done in a 3 hr exam. One good thing is that he doesn't get stuck on grammer.
