Very easy class. She really wants participation and may randomly call on you so be aware of what's going on in the class. Grades really easily on reports and presentations and is a nice person overall as well.

The topics discussed in class were interesting and varied. Dr. Clay was always prepared and ready to challenge us to think and express our opinions - she likes argumentation more than most instructors. Most of the students' presentations were fun. Too bad Dr. Clay is retiring. I would have liked to have another class with her. I do love her accent!

Madame Clay is really cute and honest. I really like the way she thinks. She's super sweet and thoughtful, but also very strict about attendance! the freshman seminar I took (wine and war) was kind of interesting.. but most of the class time she talks. oftentimes she goes off topic and it's amusing/interesting. she's retiring soon though =(

This class sure was easy. Get to class, attendance counts for a grade, turn in your homework on time. Her instructions are usually pretty clear but if you need help she's more than happy to meet students in her office for additional help. Easy class to get an A in if you do your work. Sadly, she is retiring after this year!

This class was a lot of fun. I am spending next year in France and it's going to be very useful. We learned a lot about cultural differences and a lot of new expressions and vocabulary. Professor Clay is very helpful and always in a great mood. She is cool!

Good teacher. didn't really use the readers. it was interesting, only 3 books by pagnol was a bit much. i suggest taking this class though, very enjoyable, especially when we studied carmen. grading is very fair as well

Definitely my most favorite class! I loved the discussions about Carmen and went to see the opera. What an experience! Reading the Pagnol books was very enjoyable. Madame Clay is funny, enthusiastic, and a great teacher. Ask her about how she told her non-French speaking husband when to say "oui" at their wedding. I don't guarantee that you'll get an A without some hard work, but you'll like her and learn a lot. And she's a former hottie too.

Always prepared and thorough in her explanations. Madame Clay is a charming lady with principles and a deep sense of values. She expects us to work and participate, but she is always available to help her students when we need her. I loved the class and I feel a lot more confident writing in French.

Dr. Clay is a wonerful teacher! She is always in a good mood and is very fun in class. She is willing to make herslef avaliable at any time if you need help. She is also full of funny life stories that keep classes entertaining. I definitely recommend this teacher.

Fantastic course! The literature was fun and interesting. Madame Clay is clear, helpful and all around charming. I always learn the most interesting things in her courses. She's absolutely brilliant. If this class is ever offered again, take it!

Half my brain was asleep while the other half could not believe what Mme Clay was presenting as the basics of literary analysis. Think symbols! Unfortunately, she would not address/discuss her interpretations, but would ADAMANTLY demand students to comply with them, or bye bye that B average you almost had. Freedom of opinion ... anyone?

That was a very useful course because of the research, CV and letter writing. You have to do your work regularly, but it is not difficult and Madame Clay is always willing to help.
