Great guy. I can't believe I'm seeing negative things about him. He is legitimately a genius and the only reason you could do bad in his class is if you really want to. He gave take home exams and helped me out on every one. He speaks slowly but clearly and understands questions that I ask him that can be very hard to follow. Get him if you can!

really nice old guy. you can understand the material if you actually try to listen. really quite so sit in the front! lets you retake tests! gives a lot of easy points on the tests. no homework, no attendance but if you dont miss a single class you get an extra 10% on your overall grade!

He was terrible. I LOVED math before this class. I took calculus 2 in high school and passed with a 113 average. After this I don't plan on taking a math class ever again. He is a disgustingly bad teacher. My entire class agreed and wrote it on our evaluations. How he is still working there after all these years I don't know. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.

Dr.Thompson is great! He is really funny and excessively fair. He give credit for trying and for more interested students is very willing to help. You get what you want out of his class. I've had him for several classes so I know!

I found this class extremely boring. The lectures were not helpful, if you didn't have to sign-in daily, I would have hardly ever attended classes. I found Maple work very confusing and the lab was pointless. I did find that the tests were easy and webwork was quite useful. He only made sense when teaching one-on-one...not in lectures.
