Despeaux is a really awesome professor. She gets to know her students and is very dependable when seeking help. She has a very laid back teaching style but will make sure all the material is covered in the semester. She is also very flexible. The most admirable of her traits is that she goes above and beyond for her students.

Turned in work done PRECISELY the way it was demonstrated, then she decided she didn't like it and counted off for something else she made up. Ditz. Just makes the rules up as she goes along about what she is going to apply and what she is not. Totally arbitrary.

The best aspect of this course is the enthusiasm Dr. Despeaux shows for her subject. She encourages participation and finds interesting homework and presentations. I have learned a lot from what she presented and have been encouraged to continue learning math history after the class is over and to later use it in my own classroom.

Dr. SD is AWESOME!!!!! I love her she is so fun. She loves to make jokes and make the math fun. She loves to do fun projects (Oulipo). She act nerdy in a good way and she can really teach the subject. All-in-all I would recomend her and her class to everyone!!!

The course in general is pretty hard, but she deffintly doesnt give you much slack. If you know how to do everything you'll be fine. She explains things alright but could do a lot better. The first day she related elements and sets with the Jonas brothers.& dont let her give you a take home test, it ends up being so much harder then an actual test.

This was the lowest level math class I've ever taken, and the first time I've ever made a D in a class! She was horrible. Everyone in my class hated her. She made us decode UPC labels because she used to work for little debbie. I mean come on! She is really bad for playing favorites. Avoid her at all costs.

She's a really good professor. She does a good job explaining the material, there's plenty of extra credit, and her study guides are really helpful. A lot of people found the class difficult but you really just need to do the hw (even though it's not graded) and study before the tests. The class starts off easy but gets harder.
