Dr. Yang is a great professor. I would definitely recommend taking him. He allows open note, open book, and lab top on test. We only had 2 tests and a final. He didn't take attendance; however, he gave a 10% grade swing for those who showed up and participated.

Dr. Yang is a pretty good teacher. His exams were open book, and the questions were short essay format. He also put his lectures online. The class is not the most engaging, but overall I would take Dr. Yang's class again.

If you are wanting an easy A or are not a major then Song Yang is a good instructor to have. He's a very nice guy but he has trouble communicating effectively in class and sometimes struggles with classroom dynamics. He is willing to help those in need though, and despite being often boring in class he is a very nice person.

Go to class! If you go to every class, take some notes and at least pay attention to the ends of his lectures you will make a A. It is not that hard unless you don't go to class. Tests are open book and notes so you could print out the slides to get the stuff on the slides and then take notes of the ends of the lectures. The main thing for this class is to go to class to make a A.

Great guy and teacher. I'm not one for math but he worked with everyone every step of the way. Only complaint was his accent sometimes made things hard to clarify what he was saying. Also give him a chance! some students really gave him a hard time right off the bat.

Despite being a senior level course, this is by far the easiest sociology course I've taken. Yang is an knowledgable prof who is interested in his student's success, but don't expect his classes to be engaging. His tests are incredibly easy- partly because they are open book. He takes attendance but half the class never showed up regardless.

Very easy course! Attendance is not required but at the end of every lecture, he gives out 2-5 questions that will be on the exam! Tests are open books, open notes! +2 extra credit movie every friday for a total of 20 extra credit points. If you do not make an A, you just didn't care! Awesome guy!

The class is pretty easy, he gives you the formula's and all you have to do it enter the info. HOWEVER, he grades on a curve so you could have a 93 and only get a B! THAT SUCKS because it happened to me!! I think if you make an A you ought to get a freakin' A!!

Go to his office, he will help. Also, complete Algebra and/or Finite before taking his class. Sit up front and tune others out. This is a math class for all intensive purposes, and you should treat it as such. The lab that goes with this class takes up too much time but is required. Read the book!

He is hard to understand IF YOU'RE not paying attention. He understands what he teaches, and thats why the UofA has him teaching this! He is so willing to be helpful. The stuff is not hard, but you have to pay attention or you'll be lost. Basic math

Listen, yeah he has a heavy accent, and yeah the course material is hard, but if you gotta take this course, take it with him. This guy WILL bend over backwards to help you do well. He's a really geniunely nice guy and goes way out of his way for you.

Dr. Yang is an easy target to attack for two reasons. First, moar sociology majors in the class hated math. Secondly, his English isn't perfect. I am a sociology major and this was my fav. class this sem. He will help students in any way he can.
