Database is his specialization. Tests are open book/notes. He does a lot of examples in class. His tests are just modified examples. You will want to do practice problems. Lectures were boring. His examples are 10x better than the book. . Most people who failed the tests didn't pay attention in class. 3 Test and a final Project.

Total grade is determined by 3 things, midterm which had two questions, is worth 30%. Project, 30% of your grade but a chance for extra credit, and the final which had 3 questions worth 40% of your grade. Class average of midterm was 14/35, a 40%. It's your fault though, you clearly didn't study hard enough. That's what he thinks.

Dr. Chung's lectures are dry and boring, and he can be difficult to understand because of a heavy accent. He doesn't have an attendance policy, but I heard he refuses to help students who don't come to class. But he's reasonable if you do & ask for help. Very few grades though: two exams and a project (w/ chance for extra credit) but he curves

2 exams and 1 final project. Exams are open book and notes. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you can tell he does watch who attends and respects that. Do not talk during class or he will call you out on it. He lectures straight from the slides. Not very good lectures. Go to class, put in strong effort on project, prepare for exams, you'll pass.

Your entire grade for the class rests on 1 midterm exam (30%), 1 final exam (40%), and 1 final project (30%). Midterm 2 questions, final 4 questions, open book/open note. Lectures straight from his slides. English/accent is very hard to understand. He is extremely harsh on grading. Unless you get easy exam questions, expect this to kill your GPA.

He is the worst professor I had in my life. His teaching is not good ,he just reads the slide in the class and proniuncation is very hard. Its extermly hard to guess what he is saying. I would suggest to stay away from his class.

When I took him this semester (Fall 2015) there were only a few assignments. 2 exams, a project and a final exam. Don't expect to get any feedback on what you scored for the project and final exam because it doesn't exist. I aced the first 2 exams and I ended up with a B even though I was certain I did well on the project and final exam.

Midterm was 2 questions worth 15% of our grade each. Graded very harshly and now we wont get a grade until likely after the term ends with a final project due the last week of class and a final during final weeks. His advice? Study harder, read the book 10 times, and read 4-5 other books on the same subject.

Dr. Chung is a very good, helpful, and committed professor. He has over 20 years of teaching experience, and uses practical examples that are easily understood. His exam is very difficult, to get a good grade you must be diligent going to his class and working on projects, you will be ok.

Worst CS/CEG professor at WSU! He mumbles through his lectures, gets angry if you ask questions, has extremely difficult exams and generally doesn't care about his students. If you take this class, count on learning from the book and only coming to class to get the project information. Don't forget to use google since he doesn't update the class

Avoid professor if you care about your GPA. He graded on only Midterm, Project and Final. The test questions were too vague and even with open internet it was impossible to get more than a C. He did not stay in class during tests to help clarify. The lectures were just slides, which you could just read from the book.

This was operating systems. Horrible teaching style. He copied everything from the book for lectures, so just read that instead. His tests are EXTREMELY hard, and he doesn't stay in the class for you to ask questions. Easy project, but it doesn't count for much when the average on the exams is below a C. Avoid this professor; do it for your GPA.

I hated this class. Very difficult to understand him. He gave print outs of his slides so you don't really need to go to class. Study the old exams he hands out in class, they are exactly like the real exam. A total of 3 grades in the class (2 exams + project) makes me very nervous, can't do bad on any of them.

You get used to his accent. He will stop to answer questions if you ask him. Tends to stick to the theory end of things with little (if any) mention of practical application. Two tests and a project for grading. Grades somewhat leniently (gives partial credit). All in all, I learned a fair amount about computer architecture in his class.

Worst professor ever. Could not understand him; he also hates questions. Acts as though you should already know all of this material. I do not have ANYTHING against foreign professors, but if I am paying thousands of dollars for an education the least I expect is to be able to adequately understand my professors.

This is the worst professor I ever had; absolutely. Although he is very hard to understand, this not the worst thing about him. He penalizes students that ask many of questions. So do not ask many questions in his class. Keep quiet and smile. You will not learn anything anyway, you might as well get a good grade for not pissing him off by asking.

He is hard to understand at first but you will get used to it. CS405 is an easy class and you can pick the project (you can do sth related to your work w/his approval). He provides a lot of examples. The class is a little slow paced, but he is a good guy overall. I didn't have anything against him.
