This professor knows what he is talking about! Extremely knowledgeable and understands what is important to teach and what isn't. Do not be afraid to speak up in this class, student voices matter.

Comment:
He's very knowledgeable when it comes to economics, and is very accessible and accommodating. However, his classes tend to be very dull. Hauge teaches mainly from powerpoint and seems to have a lot of trouble keeping students engaged. Professor Hauge is a nice guy, but not necessarily the best professor.

Comment:
I had Hauge as an advisor as well as a teacher and he wasn't very helpful. In his right, he is extremely smart, but has a lot of trouble relating to students. His classes are very hard to stay awake in because he is such a dry character. While he teaches primarily right out of the book, the tests can throw you for a loop and really hurt your grade.

All you have to do is ask for help and Prof. hauge will do the best he can to answer your question. The problem is that he is so knowledgable and smart that he has trouble dumbing things down enough for the rest of us. However, he is a very lenient grader as long as you make the effort to understand the course material.

Comment:
Hauge is a very cool guy indeed, and is willing to help students out. However, he is just not that good at teaching. He can't clarify the course materials very well, and makes the class so boring with his monotune. Unfortunately, he's the only one teaching this course... so, good luck people if you are really interested in International economics.

Very difficult...I suggest majoring in business as a pre-req for his courses! Lots of long silences in class... Avoid if at all possible, unless confusing graphs and economic theory are as easy and fun to you as they are to Hauge.

Being asked to draw diagrams on the blackboard can create difficulties and sometimes slow down the class, but he tends to move at just the right pace and explain things in just the right amount of detail.
