OK Spencer is a great guy, but he is extremely critical of peoples work and DOES NOT know how to properly give feedback. Doesn't follow his syllabus very well at all either. We have spent well over 2 months on one project and I just wanted to move on. If you hate a lot of projects take him. At most you'll have 4 the whole semester

Spencer is a great teacher,he takes a huge personal interest in your work and truly wants all to succeed.That being said,he will give you honest opinions and critiques,which is appropriate for the level of classes he teaches.If you work hard,learn to take criticism(which as an artist you will ALWAYS get),and don't slack off, you will learn a lot!!!

Spencer should have his teaching license revoked! He doesn't teach anything besides how to be utterly rude and demand that things be done his way. Allows no creative freedom and likes to stick it up your ass if you even dare challenge him.

Worst professor I have EVER had!!!! Biggest Waste of time/didn't learn anything useful. He doesn't stick to the ridiculous syllabus he made. He will make extremely rude comments if you try to argue him on anything. During final crits he will make you change everything even though it is a FINAL crit and you already spent lots of $$$ to print it.

Favors Students!!! Does not take the time to try and understand a student's work, wants everything done his way. Does not realize there is a difference between contructive criticism and just being rude. Is also pretty absent minded. overall the worst prof. i have ever had. the mixture between his cocky rude behavior and his bland design is lethal.

If you work hard and put in the right amount of effort, AND ARE ABLE TO TAKE CRITISISM ON YOUR WORK, you can learn a LOT from his class. It's a class, and it's meant to TEACH STRUCTURE, but putting in your personal style is encouraged. Design is only effective if others can understand your style, that's why you take the class in the first place!

Spencer is a GREAT professor! I can't believe all these negative comments. He knows what he is talking about, and all of his criticism is 100% constructive!! He gives students ample opportunities to redo assignments and improve their grades. He's very nice, and very helpful, and definitely helped me bring my work to the next level. He's great!!!!!!

He doesnt know how to treat people with respect and wastes class time on tedious projects that are completely un-individual. He does not let you design your own work and is unsatisfied till you do it his way. Design classes are for creating your designs not his.

A cocky individual who tends to be too stressed out for his own good. He spells everything out for people in an effort to make himself look like a competent teacher infront of his peers, effectively treating the class as if they had not a brain amongst them. He is a joke, just like his design work.
