Comment:
Your grade is based off 4 exams. Be above the average and you'll be fine. The textbook is dense and dry, learn to navigate it for the information you need based off his lecture ppts. Dr. Steinberg cares about you succeeding but not if you don't care about his class. Suggestion: do extra calculation questions than those assigned.

Lectures are dry and long. You basically have to teach yourself the material and read the book. There are also recommended homework problems from the textbook and always posts lecture slides. Exams are tough and the final is cumulative (worth 40%). He only drops the lowest exam grade if one of the scores is deviant from the other scores.

Lecture is a bit dry, can be useful to know what to focus on... a ton of online homework. Exams were nerve wrecking. Just study. Good luck.

The lectures are pretty boring. There are tons of homework, 3 midterms, and a cumulative final, as well as a term paper. Problems on the tests are similar to the homework problems and the problems on the solution manual, but can be difficult if you haven't been doing the homework. There is a huge curve for this class!

Tests are very difficult (too difficult for the level of teaching). However, if you work hard, do most of the homework, and seek help/act like you care, you will pass. There is a huge curve!!

This was an extremely dry and boring (a teach-yourself) kind of class. His exams are some of the hardest exams I've ever had in my life. He does more than make you regurgitate info (even tho that class is information-heavy). You really have to know your chemistry for this class, but he will not fail you if you try your best (the curve is huge).

His teaching style may be beneficial to some, but it wasn't to me. I honestly didn't learn a lot. Tests can be quite tough, but he curves a lot. Very much a self study, you really don't even need to be at his lectures.

Best chem class ever!He try to minize the material you have to remember and maximize your grade. He teach you how to solve various types of problems step by step. What more can you ask for? Just have to practice few problems, understand basic concepts and you will be fine. Tests'questions are not hard, but only 30 of them! be very careful.

was enthusiastic about chemistry, but after taking his class, I felt like i wanted to shoot myself. He may curve but seeing how the class average was a 65%, this guy can't teach, and doesn't really seem to care about his students. Go take orgille instead.

Are you serious?... Professors cant teach you chemistry, at the end you're going to have to teach yourself anyways. This teacher is super amazing, go to his office hours and he will teach you everything you need to know for the test. Plus he drops a test, and curves BIG time! Just study and you'll do great, no doubt!

I'm taking this guy right now.He totally sucks. The person who said you're teaching YOURSELF chemistry is totally correct. His lectures are friggin pointless. I can't believe I got deceived by some 3-4 people on these comments who said he was a good teacher. He shouldn't be teching 121 or 122. Do NOT take him.

Hah! The comment below...Ron Jeremy..sorta haha but with blond hair. Anyways! Boring lectures! Which were based on powerpoints...that you could print out on webcampus. Weekly online quizzes. Quizzes in class didnt count-were just for practice. 4 tests. Curves at the end. Basically, youre going to be teaching yourself chem if you take Steinberg.

The teacher was pretty much useless. His lectures were boring and he does not know how to articulate chemistry. He always says that everything is "trivial." He talks randomly about useless things. If you want to get an A, you must teach yourself. However, he does have a generous curve at the end of the semester. Good luck!!!

I could imagine him in his younger days starring in a lot of movies - maybe like a younger Ron Jeremy. Overall, moderate class - not too bad, not too hard. Funny professor, it just sucks that the material is boring.

Wow- what a waste of time. I am all for attending lectures, but this class makes we wanna stand up and scream "I just can take it anymore!!!" ... but I don't. Do yourself a favor and take 122 elsewhere. He relies solely on the cruddy slides given by publishing company. If this guy was anything like Dr Orgill we'd all have A's n leave class smiling!

Very funny teacher and I enjoyed him a lot! Kinda boring class to tell you the truth, but then again its Chemistry. Make sure you study and understand how to do the problems... you'll do well if you do! 1st test is the easiest, 2nd hardest, 3rd middle and final is ok; just make sure you ubndertand the material.

Steinberg is a really funny man. He kind of looks like a hippie, so it's enjoyable watching him talk about chemistry. He really knows his stuff and like to entertain the class with fun chemistry facts. He has an AMAZING curve. but study! He puts all the practice exams, quizzes, and notes online. it's really resourceful! I'd recommend him to anyone!

Awesome teacher. He gives you all the resources you could ever get. Practice exam, powerpoint lectures, sample hw and in class quizzes(not for grade). He also makes the class interesting. He is very helpful. The test are only hard if you dont go over the material...Gives a huge curve at the end
