Three tests, all on blackboard but they are pretty difficult. Theres one project, only worth 10 points. Very passionate about geology, but expects everyone to already know everything

Comment:

She answers emails quickly and is happy to explain if you have questions. Lecture heavy (because she knows her subject), she talks fast and goes through definitions as if we're advance. Her exams are online and they are crazy hard, there are things on it that aren't on the PowerPoint. And for her minerals and rock exam there is no word bank.

Honestly a great professor. A little quirky, but she is very knowledgeable about Geology. Just make sure to show up to class in order to pass and you will be fine. Tests can be hard, just make sure to study hard.

Amazing professor! Truly an amazing person who cares deeply about geology. Her exams are more difficult than most but she helps out the test scores as much as she can! Highly recommend her!

Dr Verardo makes geology as enjoyable as possible. However, her tests are stupid hard. I have never failed a class/course in my life till now. I was looking to take this class to fill my natural science credit but I guess chance of plans. Shes awesome but her tests arent!

Easily top 5 prof i've ever had. So passionate, and outgoing, she really made the class SO much more enjoyable with her personality. Summer class only had two exams, both were all straight from the powerpoint slides. For lecture just print the slides and take notes on them.

Professor Verado is the best! I love how she teaches with so much passion. She clearly knows her stuff and teaches it exquisitely. Her energy made the class engaging and enjoyable. Put in the work , study her power point slides and you'll do well! By far the best biology professor I've had at Mason.

Professor Verardo is very knowledgable in geology. She goes over the powerpoint in class so you never really have to go to class because the exams were based on the powerpoints. The exams were very specific so you have to really study the powerpoint.

She is a really nice person and knows her stuff! Her tests are very difficult and all short answer. Lectures are boring because the subject is boring, but she tries to make it sound exiting. Don't try to study everything the night before. You must know everything that is on the ppt slides off the top of your head! Study a lot and ask questions!

Dr. Verardo is very enthusiastic about the subject she teaches. It really draws you in and makes you pay attention. She provides her slides online and I found it best to print them and write in anything she reemphasizes. Her exams are not easy, you really do need to understand the material. Over all I would love to have more professors like her.

Professor Verardo is great! She is clear about the material that will be on the test and provides the powerpoint presentations on BB so that you can actually pay attention in class rather than having to scribble down everything on the board. I would definitely take her again.

So i took this class thinking it was going to be easy but boy was i wrong. This class was so stupidly difficult that it makes me angry. I'm not a science major and don't care about geology but needed science credits. I still got a B but it was the hardest B i have ever gotten.

I wouldn't take this class is you are a non-science major looking to fill that lab science spot. She makes the 100 level class wayyy to hard. I worked my butt off to get a B. The tests are so harsh and the textbook is necessary.

Take note of the avg grade: C. This is because she is tremendously hard (especially for a 100 lvl class). She is nice, yes, but I don't think that makes up for how ridiculously tough her exams are.

Stacy was a great teacher. While her courses were lecture format with large groups, she went out of her way to help students who needed it. She made the content interesting and engaging, and when I was sick she let me retake the test at another time. Truly a great person and professor.
