such a nice guy, caring, pleasant, well spoken..BUT never came to class with a prepared lesson, just talked about whatever he felt like. dont buy the books you dont ever have to read, just say one or two things in class and youll be ok. 2 10 pg papers, that were easy topic.

Fantastic. Prof. Levinsky is a practicing civil rights lawyer with a lot of experience and insight. He really knows his stuff. One of my best classes.

The questions asked were hardly answered sufficiently, while the readings not only were not related to the class but were not needed for any assignments. Towards the end of the semester it was apparent that he had run out of class plans. I def recommend this class if you like enjoy shooting yourself in the foot.

Quite possibly worst professor at UMASS. I actually read the text books (NOT that anyone else did) and the papers were random and had little relation to them. He rarely showed up, and he just may have picked our paper grades out of a hate. Tries to use large words to sound intelligent but often detracts from the message hes trying to put out.

He is a very nice guy and he does have a soul. He tries his best to make the materials clear. Yes the class was extremely boring and unorganized and I did not learn anything. He is a nice guy but I only wish we had a sylabus at least.

This is the worst teacher in the history of the education system. You will not learn anything, you will be bored to death, you may even want to hurt yourself or other people if you take a class with him. He can't teach, organize a class, be prepared for class, or even walk. Jerrold Levinsky, you have no soul, I hate you!

Goes off on philisophical tangents... much more lecture than discussion. Clearly passionate about what he is teaching but a bit inaccessable to students. Gives no feedback on papers nor any indication that he has actually read them.
