Great prof. Very classy. Show up to every class! Loved his lectures and thoughts. Easy class. Do the practice essay questions. They are the test questions. There will be the 3 exams: pick 1 of 2 questions. One 5 page paper. That's it. Be respectful. He is a real gem, has experience, and hilarious. I wish he taught HIS102. I would take it.

All he does is read off of his own notes the whole class. No handouts, no homework, no power points. Very easy to not pay attention, and also the textbook for the class is basically useless. 3 tests the whole semester and one large paper. He's also a very difficult grader for no reason. Personally, would never take him again.

Great prof. Show up with a good attitude, take extensive notes, do the pre-test essay questions/unit study guide and read some of the texts he gives you. You will pass. He has a great sense of humor, too. Enjoy!

this is the worst professor ive ever had. every class he just reads off of old papers and expects you to write down every single thing he says, which is difficult when he mumbles the whole time. no notes, no handouts. you basically teach yourself in this class so you might as well take the online course and not waste your time. stay away from him

He basically blabs about western civ history. My classes with him were hilarious. He goes over his favorite parts of history and the tests aren't hard. I never once studied or read the online book yet always got a B+ on the tests. I would take him for every class if I could. If I did read the book then I could've gotten a easy A.

Professor Alexander is an old school teacher. He has very dry humor and he is very lecture heavy. His lectures are boring. There are threes written tests. He gives a study guide of about 3 to 10 questions, he expects you to write an essay about all of them. He only asks for one during test day but you don't know which one. He is not a good choice.

If you actually don't mind studying and doing work, you'll do fine. Professor Alexander is like the human equivilant of a history book, full of knowledge but probably boring for those not interested. I personally don't mind the lectures. But hey, I'm a history nerd.

Do not take this class !!!! His lectures consist of him sitting at a table reading from his notes that were probably written during the time in history that we were learning about. He also counted two random tests twice While the final and term paper were only counted twice. Ive gotten an A in every class I have taken at Suffolk and got a C

Prof. Alexander is a unique individual. His lectures are most definitely boring and the clock drags. He doesn't give handouts. He laughs at his own jokes, I actually hated him at first. I thought I was doing horrible in the class, but I managed to do very well and got an A. Turns out he is a very nice guy.

Prof. Alexander was a bit much at first- I never had someone say so much in a lecture before or since. I adjusted. That is the downside. The upside is that he gave so much information and CONNECTIONS in his lectures that my understanding of history grew immeasurably. If you work, you will get more out of this class than even graduate level ones.

He grades on only 4 things. He failed me on one test which made it impossible to pass even if I got 100% on the rest of my assignments. I talked to him about extra credit and he pretty much blew me off. He thinks hes funny but really isnt. Feel free to sleep because everyone else does. Dont take the class unless you know history super well.

Honestly, this is the run down. Theres 3 Essay tests and 1 paper. I never wrote any notes and just looked up the essay answers online and then studied those and made it into my own essay and somehow got an A. Don't bother taking notes to be honest unless you really want too. For the essay tests make it short and simple, get to the point!

He is definitely a lecture-heavy professor. All he does is speak and speak and speak. I feel that he gives out information that really isn't needed for any tests or papers. Now that I have rested my case, "Are there any requests for clarification"?
