worst professor ive ever had hands down. he is senile and cant even use a computer and yet hes supposed to be a 'digital filmmaking' expert? the guy knows nothing, came in angry every morning for no reason. the projects you do are group projects so you will get a bad grade if you dont get into a group with a project that he likes. worst teacher.

He has a lot of knowledge and experience and lectures well (occasionally rambling just a bit). There are a few short tests and a five page paper. Youll need to do the readings as the lectures are meant to supplement the chapters and most class time is spent watching films. Hes patient and respectful, as long as you show up and read youll do well

Excellent course. Excellent professor. He's extremely knowledgeable, experienced, and passionate about filmmaking but also very approachable and respectful of his students. As long as you show up and try you will do well.

Took online cinema really just for the credit but I wish I hadn't. He takes off points if you don't do the work days before the due date and will not give you full credit on just about anything unless HE thinks you really know what you are talking about. Unless you need to take this class I highly suggest you don't.

It was an online cinema class. We had to read 2 books and then Watch the adaption. Then you have 6 days to write a 5 page paper on them. I didn't sign up to read books I wanted to watch films. He also comes off as really smug and pretentious. The class was also only on one genre each semester, so you might get one you don't like

Three film projects with a group and two tests. You'll need to teach yourself. He gives a review sheet for the tests, but the textbook is online and hard to navigate. You MUST be prepared for the tests. Gives good feedback on your film projects. You learn how to edit on your own. Overall I had a lot of fun in this class making short films.

Boring is an understatment! What he teaches should imediately click with me. But since he doesn't sound like he cares, why should I then!

He is very passionate about film; however, do not take this class if you are not a film major. I loved the class because I am a cinema studies major, but it was very difficult. He relies on to teach yourself because you only have time to watch the movies in his class. He doesn't go into depth on his material, but relies on you to read the text.

Star knows everything about film. Hes very down to earth and approachable if you need help but can be difficult at times. His tests rely mostly on the textbook readings and some harder questions from them. My best advice is don't take the class if youre looking for an easy grade, its not a class you just sit and watch movies on. Hes passionate.

Star's class is really easy as long as you listen to him. Keep in mind that he’s very conservative and will always have something bad to say about your work, so don’t stress about it. The tests are easy and straight from the textbook â€" which is online! Remember to actually do the study guides and you’ll do fine!

Here's the deal wth Starr. If you love film you will probably like him. Either way, most think he's a good guy. Lots of feedback on papers. Very helpful but not an easy BS course.

His lectures are dry, but he gives quizzes with plenty of warning and a review sheet. Most class time is spent reviewing films, taking quizzes, or filming and editing. It's an easy enough class if yuo can understand the basics.

He's a very boring teacher, his lectures are very dry. Unless you're very knowledgeable about film and its history. dont take this class because it may not be for you. Tests are given unexpectingly, and the content of the test is based in the book which is very difficult to remember. Very hard. The films are very old & foriegn.

I have t o say jamming a needle between the fingernail is more enjoyable then the class. I seriously could not stop dozing off during his lecture. Such a boring, useless class. Unless you are a theater/cinema major then don't take it. Save your money and your time and go somewhere else.

He knows his stuff. He gives all the tools to pass, and whoever doesn't is their own fault not Star's. He appreciates personal opinion so make sure you speak up. Be careful on your papers, it's not english but he won't go easy on grammatical errors. I've had him three times already and taking a fourth, I wouldn't go to anyone else!

Worst professor out there! Have been in school for over 4 years now and have nothing but A's and B's. Failed me due to my opinion that Science fiction books basically are not in my line of interest unless dealing with space or technology stated in my final and this is the reason he failed me was that "i have more of an intrest in life than this cla

He's a really good professor, his lectures are basically straight out of the text so all you have to do is read to pass. He encourages your own opinion and will reward you for it grade wise. Favorite class so far, and I can wait to take the second half.
