This is the easiest class ever! It seems challenging at the beginning when you get into phonetics but none of the technical terms are required for exams. Gives all exam questions out prior to exam, reviews answers to them. You think it couldn't get easier and then he drops one exam. Also offers take home exams. Easy- even if you don't like language

Dream class for anyone that loves discussing world culture and language (like myself)! He's very open and loves chatting about the subject matter, it always felt more like hanging out with a buddy than a class, but I learned a lot at the same time. It's also very easy, go to class and pay attention and the essay heavy tests should be no sweat.

Prof McCray is a great Professor. He makes his lectures funny and insightful. He provides Review sheets so you know what to study for the exams. Attendance is not mandatory, but he's fun, so most go to all his classes. Great class! Wish he taught more classes.

Don't expect to learn anything or have to go to class. Show up to get the review sheets and take the exams whenever you want(short answer, expect to get 100s every time). Good for boosting your GPA/meeting graduation reqs but otherwise is a colossal waste of time. You'd be better off taking a slightly harder class where you'll learn something.

probably the easiest 300 level course you could take, as long as you're with mccray. attendance is not mandatory and honestly not needed, as his tests are either take home or obvious since he gives a review sheet covering what material will be on the exam. definitely take them. funny guy.

Dr. McCray is sweet as can be and extremely entertaining yet goofy. A little TOO goofy though. You won't learn much in this class if you're a Linguistics major but go ahead and take it for kicks cuz it's way easy. His lectures are semi-helpful but the class consists of only 3 exams and for each you get review sheet beforehand and totally from book

I found this class to be very easy, and boring at times, but McCray can sometimes liven things up. He has a dynamic personality and is very interested in the experience of students, but he will show videos that are outdated. Still a pretty easy class!

This class was a great class to take to introduce me to UMBC and professor McCray is an awesome teacher. The material isn't the easiest, but he will make it easy. If you don't understand it after having this class, you just won't get it. But take this class, it's worth it!

this class was an easy A!! def take it to reduce some workload and boost GPA. McCray is an awesome professor,the only reason we had essays on exam was because of the other professor who taught the course along with him. But we received all the vocabs and essay questions that were on the exam beforehand, so it was fairly easy

he was a great professor becuase he made class fun b/c he was funny but the information presented was VERY boring...attendance not mandatory and his exams are either open book or take home. no final and easy A so take him if you can!
