Comment:

one of the best profs i've had by far! She cares about her students and making sure we understand the material. I thought I wouldn't be interested but she was very engaging! You do have to attend class otherwise you may be confused and do the readings beforehand!!! Only complaint i have is she doesn't use any visual aids to post on courselink

Professor Nutting was an amazing professor! She is very passionate about Quebec literature and society and that made taking this course with her a great experience. She is definitely a professor I hope to have in the future.

Comment:

Madame Nutting was easily one of the best professors I had over the course of my university career. She has a passion for Quebec culture and history which is palpable and really comes through in her teaching. I would strongly recommend this course for anyone with a passing interest in the subject.

You need to do the reading to be able to keep you. Attendance is graded. She was a very clear presenter, and passionate about her topic Very engaging, and told you EXACTLY what to expect on the midterm/final If you don't pass, you didn't do your part. She is always more than happy to help!

Amazing professor! So dedicated to her work and really acknowledges when you make an effort. Encourages class participation and goes out of her way to help you succeed. Wish I could have taken more of her classes, she is a pleasure to have as a prof!

Though she is interesting, she is very unclear as to what she wants and is looking for. The midterm was nearly impossible to study for, a fact she admitted herself. She's not all that approachable either. I'd like to read some of her stuff cause she is an interesting person but I can't say I would go out of my way to enroll in one of her classes :(

I thought it was a very dry course, then again I am not into literature. As mentioned below her teaching style made the course so much harder than it had to be. Gives no indication of hints for midterms, or finals. Her accent is great, but she basically makes you memorize 500 years of French history - dates and all :| awesome..

A wonderful course, and Professor Nutting speaks so clearly and not too rapidly. Very focused and usually examines based on the highlights she presented in class. She definitely had my full attention and interest all semester.

Really nice, and wants to help you...but I found her teaching style made the material a lot harder than it actually was...you can understand her when she talks, but her teaching style made the course hard...

Was an 8:30 so participation was bad, but Nutting was great as usual. Attend class and listen to what she says, if you focus 2 classes on something it will be on the exam. Very helpful with paper if you go to her office, she made photocopies of important passages from her books for me.

I love Nutting. She's cute, helpful, clear and really knowledgable and passionnate about Québec history/literature. Tough marker but if you study and listen to what she says you can do pretty well. Loves the dates. I'll definitely take another course with her.

(French) Not very compassionate. Very knowledgable, but found lectures to lack structure... very off the top of her head Uses very advanced vocabulary - many students cannot easily understand.
