He's a great professor, and very, very fair in grading. This is the hardest CS class I've ever taken (I've taken 153, haven't taken 152) and most students in general struggle with this class. As long as you pay attention in lecture, do the homework, and go to his office hours, you should be fine.

A great part of your grade come from final, not from homeworks or projects which is a huge disappointment :( . It's more an analyzing algorithm class than designing one.

The best professor I have ever had. He is my advisor so I know him well. He is extremely nice and helpful. He is always my supporter. His teaching is also great. His exams are not much difficult. I'm sure he is the kindest professor I have ever seen.

Hands down, the best CS Professor i've ever had. Explains the material very well. Approachable and nice. Fair grading. I'll admit, the work he assigns you is not easy, but given the time and effort you can get an A in his class.

Class wasn't hard as everyone says. His lectures seemed clear. He reviews before tests and tells you the type each problem. Sometimes it is hard to pin point what the problem about. It also helped the TA was being pretty helpful.

he is the best upper division/grad cs professor at UCR. If you think his cs 141 class is hard then maybe CS is just not for you. Also a tip to future students: you do NOT need the book. His lecture slides are sufficient and the book sucks.

Hard class, I don't even know how I passed. John Cleary was co-teaching the class but Lonardi had the final say to tests/programs. Clearly would write the programs and pass it to Lonardi but Lonardi would go "this is too easy, make it harder."

Lonardi is the best professor for teaching algorithsms and teory of computation @ UCR. Definitely take him and you will learn a lot. The midterms and final are hard, but he is a fair grader. With Lonardi it's all fair game. Avoid as much as you can CHROBAK and T JIANG, they simply hate students.

Very clear and organized. Homeworks and exams are TOUGH! However, I hear from students that are retaking his class that he's going slower for students now. Good teacher, hard course.

good professor. he puts one or two trick questions on the tests just so it wont be too easy, but he'll curve a lil bit to your benefit. his programs were definitely challenging, but i think they were ok. easy to understand too.
