His classes are incredibly confusing and I often leave his classes confused and stressed out. If you take his classes be prepared to spend many hours in his office trying to figure everything out.

He talks really fast but will slow down if asked. He is Willing to answer questions as long as they are relevant to class. Gives out bonus work. You will have a quiz everyday over topics already learned

Covers almost everything in class, but doesn't use notes. if you go to class you will do well, but Heaven forbid you miss a day. he will let you see his notes but tells you upfront they probably wont do you any good. MUST EITHER ATTEND CLASS OR HAVE A FRIEND WHO DOES AND WILL TAKE GOOD NOTES FOR YOU.

He mentions a lot of great content and also provides a wonderful standard in teaching methods which can be implemented in future teacher's classroom's. Contrary to other reviews, he is not arrogant. However, if one is prone to misinterpreting reality, he or she may perceive him as arrogant. He will challenge you, so you have to earn your grade.

He loves to give "busy" work. If you need clarification on anything, he uses it as an opportunity to be condescending and superior. He really likes himself and there should be a picture of him in the dictionary next to egotistical. Glad I only had to take one of his classes!

I took Ad. Psych online and the tests were not consistent at all with the study quizzes, nor the book. Some of the questions were impossible to answer because the options did not match up with any of the info the book provided and that's the only material we had because it was online. His assessments are poor representations of the instruction.

This class was ridiculous. If you can find any other professor to teach graduate level Life Span Development, do it! He was not helpful! I received A's on all my papers and C's on all my tests. I ended up with 79 (a C.) This is the only graduate class for which I recieved a C. The tests did not reflect the required reading material.

I know I can't really give a valid review of Dr. Burgess because this course was administered through video, not lecture. However, I did take his tests, and they were ridiculously hard. I even went to see him in his office and he assured me that they were very generalized. That is a lie!!!!! Avoid him, unless you don't care about your grade.

The class is very interesting, but man, it's hard! I went to class every day, took every note, studied pretty hard, and I will still get a C! I like him as a teacher but his tests are terrible and they are all comprehensive. If you can't take tests well, don't take this class.

I don't know what everyone else is talking about; I loved his class. He has a sarcastic sense of humor but not ever demeaning. You get used to how fast he talks, but if you miss something it's not a big deal; just read the text. His tests aren't easy, but if you study for them, you'll get an A.
