The instructor definitely enjoys this topic more so than anyone else. Very self centered. He requires you to write essays for midterms and final (80 mins) He doesn't care if you have other classes or a life, or the mere fact that this is a junior college and this is a GE course. Hopefully I will get a survey from the college!??

This is a course that sets up the the student to FAIL rather than succeed The lectures are inconsistent to the textbook Chapters and will throw you off if you don't CAREFULLY read his weekly memo thats drags on like a dissertation. Not your typical community college GE course, you will get an IVY LEAGUE quality course and 1/2 price!!

Easily the worst instructor I've had in my life and that includes throughout my time in the military. Lectures are not given in a cohesive manner. He jumps around a lot in his lectures and goes off on tangents numerous times during any given class. The worst thing is he flat out lies during his lectures in order to validate his opinions. Don't take

This class was very boring and hard. I feel that the professor is inconsiderate of the amount of work his students have. I think he feels that by giving you a lot of work that he is pushing you to be your best, but in reality I feel that he sets his students up for failure. It's just too much, and all he does is lecture the entire class.

Don't take his class! He tests on his lectures that are extremely difficult to follow along because of the intellectual vocabulary he uses to describe the American history. He also jumps between different time periods in his lectures, which makes it even more difficult to understand. This was the hardest class I have ever taken.

I would not recommend taking this professor's class. He tests on his lectures that are extremely difficult to follow. I depended on textbooks to barely pass the class due to his lectures being extremely difficult to understand. His test questions are vague and he grades too hard. He expects students to already have knowledge of American history.

His test questions are vague, and he is a very tough grader. He sends out an email before the exams that specify points that we should focus on, but on the exam, he expects a completely different answer. Also, his feedback is a bit rude and condescending.

Stuck up and rude, does not help with questions, and is an extremely tough grader. Your grade is based on only three essays.

Online class is chill. Lots of reading from two texts. Two essay midterms, one final, and a couple quizzes. Understand the reading and provide historical info to back up your arguments in your essays and you'll be fine.

He is a hard grader and I with my 3.6GPA I have never received a D grade until his class. Expects far too much specificity from his students in testing. The way he responds he comes off as arrogant. He is obviously intelligent and I can respect that, but he is obnoxious. Average grading for class on midterm was 46%.

Where to begin... His class overall was an odd experience. I'll just say we started class with 40 kids and ended with 10-15 if that says anything for you. There's only 4 things graded. 3 essays and participation. Just make sure to ask for advice on your structure on essays and you'll be okay.

I took this class Online for a summer class. I think overall he isn't that hard of a professor, you just need to read and understand the essay questions he asks. The quiz's aren't that hard either if you do the reading. Im not the best student and I found this class to be pretty average.

This class was ALL reading the textbook and doing quizzes/ essays. On quizzes I was told by him "there are multiple right choices but you have to pick the most correct answer" WHAT THE HECK! Quizzes are all multiple choice and tests are usually an essay. " Discussions" are not discussions they are just another essay prompt.

Had him in the fall. He seems incredibly knowledgeable, but also very negligent of his class and students. Does not respond to emails promptly at all! He has a complete superiority complex, which is incredibly intimidating for students, even though it is an online course. I highly discourage taking this class.

Teacher expects too much out of what is suppose to be a relatively easier course. Im taking econ and stats and this is my hardest course.. Due to high expectations for a history class that you will never need to know in life. ever.

Professor Juarez is a brilliant teacher. His knowledge in not only US History but World History as well is astonoshing. His teaching method is all lecture, but he does he lectures in a way that will captivate your mind with vivid pictures. However, this class was HARD. HE IS A TOUGH GRADER. But he makes his standards very concise and clear.

I loved everything about Mr. Juarez. He knows history extremely well, and you do not see his philosophy a lot in WVC. In that class, I was able to focus 100%. He is very open-minded, and I assure you that you will finish the semester as a changed person. I always heard my classmates that he was a tough person, blah blah blah, they're just lazy.

Reading his lectures and the book are crucial to your success in this class. To be honest, this class is difficult because you can't BS your way through the essays. You actually have to read and fully understand what is being taught. He's pretty decent at replying to emails. His grading is extremely clear, but he is a tough grader. READ READ READ!
