Let's get one thing straight; if you aren't willing to put in the effort, and accept that Dr. Ryan is preparing you for the world outside of school - you will NOT like her. She makes you work for it, and will not just hand things to you on a platter. However, if you put in the effort, show her you care, and TRY? She is the best professor at KU.

Seems to be a good professor at first, but she is very tough and sometimes unclear. Attendance isn't mandatory but don't expect to pass if you skip. Excessive amounts of work for a field elective and tough grader with little to no feedback on assignments. Mandatory weekend field trip for the class also. Would not recommend.

Ryan will simultaneously be your saving grace and the bane of your existence. Her classes are for sure a roller coaster. You will fell optimistic, anxious, nauseous, confused, scared, and full of joy. You will hate her and you will love her. She will push you until you break, but you will be stronger for it, and you will thank her in the end.

When it comes to zoo lab dr ryan is a great choice. This is a hard lab with lots of detail but she tries to make it easy and fun. you cant blame a prof. for hard course material. Just study (esp. for praticals 2 in total) and you will do fine. Quizzes and disections almost every week but fair grader. Got points i should not have on quizzes etc

Great professor really wants you to do well but keeps it a bio lab for science majors. Very funny and easy to get along with. Quizzes and lab pratical were tough but not impossible. Remember you do need to STUDY even though its a lab. If you do not study you will not do well.

Ryan was a very helpful professors and wanted to help everybody pass. Was welcoming during office hours but sometimes wandered off in the middle of lab and when you needed to ask her something she couldnt be found.

People new to biology and out to learn DO NOT take Ryan. She is for experienced students only. She does not explain a thing and she is useless if you ask her for help. She doesn't teach, only instructs you to do things that you probably dont know how to do with little to no, and a very unclear overview of the topic. WAnted to kill myself

She is one of the most intelligent people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. If you are looking for an easy A, this is not a professor to take, but I guarantee that you will remember more information from one of her classes than all your other classes combined. DROVE ME CRAZY.Nothing she said would be on quizzes was ever on them.Gave a quiz in every class that are almost impossible to pass.Stinks becuase it's a lab and goes toward your BIO grade.Class is an hour and 50 mintues of the most boring material ever,and labs are absolutely no fun.

She's a nice lady but is very bad at letting you know what it is she is looking for. Tests and assignments have little feedback, and even less direction for right-ups. Lecture is good, but her test questions tent to be vague as well, and she doesn't give you anything if you don't answer exactally what she is looking for.

Smartest teacher in the science department. Knows what she's talking about and is excellent at articulating it. You will learn alot. She demands alot from her students, its not an easy ride as it shouldn't be. People generally have a negative view of her because you have to work for your grade. Very helpful but makes you think for yourself.

I studied sooooooooooo hard for her tests and still did bad! I have no clue what she wants... I got a C in her class which is definately NOT what I deserved considering all the work I put into the class. She's also rude and comes up with smart ass comments to make you feel like an idiot!
