You can tell he really likes teaching econ, and he actually gives really good examples. But you have to attend EVERY LECTURE to understand his continuance of examples and how each subject continues on to each topic. If you attend every lecture and listen, you will learn a lot and he makes it interesting! (More interesting than the textbook).

This was a very easy class. He posts the notes online so you don't have to go to lecture. While he doesn't actually add a lot during lecture, he just seems like an interesting guy to listen to.

I'm not sure what to say. He's nice and knowledgeable, if you go to his classes you SHOULD be fine. But that isn't always the case. When he says learn something, LEARN IT!! Don't just think u can get away with a little bit, you can't. LISTEN TO HIM, HE'S QUITE HONEST IN HIS MARKING. I may have done poorly in his class, but I must say he's very fair

He's a good prof who knows his stuff. I'm going to have to agree with the previous commentor and say that if the math in his classes is too hard for you then maybe you are in the wrong program. Economics is math at heart, so don't let yourself be fooled by the intro courses!

math-based lectures, lecture based testing. material isn't hard, textbook was useless but fair testing. if you thought the math in this class was hard, you're in the wrong program.

He is nice person with fair exams. He asks what he teaches. The problem is that he teaches too superficially, avoiding required math. This makes things harder than with math. He teaches good, again, what he teaches. I sense a lack of enthusiasm of him, probably he is working like hell to make enough publication not to lose his track. overall, ok!

Terrible prof, cool guy though, but just his teaching style is terrible. He should be teaching math not economics because he skips so many steps. It's impossible to follow him. Plus in his office he's not very nice nor approachable. Teaches 3rd year Macro well though!

Just need to work hard. Those who thought macro was easy (from Cellarier's 3600) were wrong. A number of you signed waivers (didn't take 3770) for this class (but not for 4710), and expected an easy 400 lvl without studying much, you guys really deserved it. I personally didn't like Kosempel at all. He failed me before. Still, I did well in 4810.

I'm sure Kosemple is a great guy, but the course I took with him was absolutely miserable. I did fine in the course, but what a waste of time. Nothing remotely useful for the arsenal of an economist. If you don't have to take it, don't. You won't miss a thing.

no use going to lectures or reading textbook. Just have the lecture notes and someone who is to tell you the topic. Where to find that someone? Don't worry, there are always repeaters in that course.
