This professor is more than fair. I fell behind and he allowed me to make up my work. There is a lot of reading and the discussions are a bit tedious but the information is useful and interesting. I enjoyed the freedom of discussion but 9 posts is a bit much when you're a graduating senior with a lot on your plate. Sometimes a tough grader.

Please don't do it. I only took the class because i needed the credit, didn't read his rating before and I should have. We have three assigned books to read and he wants 9 discussion posts a week and he wants you to post at least 4 days a week. I could write the most amazing post and do all the work and he will give me a 40-60. Please save yourself

He made this class so much harder than it needed to be. The amount of work he expects insane. His grading system is way too harsh. If your responses aren't perfect, he'll give you an incredibly low grade. Please, don't make the same mistake I did and take two of his online courses at the same time. It could have been such a cool class to take

I should've listened to the other raters! This professor grades like it's a graduate archaeology course, and isn't exactly clear with what he wants. He also has an attendance policy for his online class! He assigns a lot of reading which would be fine if the books were dreadfully boring. Skip this class unless you REALLY need it!

What Saraydar needs to understand is that these types of classes are for students who just need the credit, and not taking this class to become the next famous archaeologist. Thought this class was going to be interesting and fun, but he totally ruins it. Very critical and if you do make all the replies and participate he will still give you a 50

Worst professor i ever had. He is so anal, as in he will give no concern to your other classes and acts like his class is the only one you should pay attention to and even care for. Even when you think you are right, you are wrong in his class.

The class is hard but if you study you will be fine. I blew off 2 essays and fell asleep in just about every movie and still got a C+. I think everyone should have to take this class it really gives you perspective on how our environment is in trouble. I actually learned a lot from this class it is worth the work you put in even for a gen ed.

Worst professor to take an online class with. Never had him in class. Not leniency AT ALL, even when the error is on Angel and NOT the fault of the student. Would NEVER think of taking a class with him EVER AGAIN.

I know his classes are hard, but Dr. Saraydar is such a great guy if you actually ask for help! I feel asleep during the videos but the readings are very interesting! If you aren't afraid to work hard you'll really enjoy what you're learning.

Dr Saraydar needs to understand that he needs a much clearer teaching style. He either needs to highlight the true learning objectives in each chapter or start from scratch. He was too vague in expectations. Overall, DO NOT take this as a gen ed.

This teacher does not deserve to teach in Suny Oswego. His grading policy is unfair and unethical. unless this class is needed for your major, do not take it.

If you think taking a class that teaches you about famous archaeological sites would be fun and interesting- BOY are you WRONG! Horrible textbook, useless notes, and a teacher who will give you a 0 on an essay because you missed the main point but hit every other point. For the love of God and your own sanity and GPA- AVOID SARAYDAR!!!

I took this class as a gen-ed and there were no pre-req's. In his syllabus he states he only requires 3 posts a module but you need at least 6-8 to at least pass the module. He isn't clear on what he wants and you need to re-read things over and over. He constantly reminded me that if I had taken ANT 101 or something that I would've done better.

I took this class online and there were no pre-req's so I figured it wouldn't be that bad. WRONG! He says he only requires 3 posts a module, well he lies. You need at least 6-8 to get at least a passing grade. He's very strict and no clear on what he wants. You better read and re-read everything over and over.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS WITH HIM! the class description sounds like you'll learn all about the excavation of the world's most exciting finds but instead he teaches that the world will end very soon. too much reading & he focuses too much on details. very very boring material taught by a very very boring professor.

This guy sucks, he grades like everyone should know everything that ever had to do with archaeology. The Fugawiland thing was pointless and everybody fails it. His test sucks and he grades to harsh. treats the class like its a 400/500 level class. His lectures are so boring and useless, and the the text is awe full.I hope he gets fired or let go.

This is a good class for students interested in archaeology. It's a lot of theory so that can make it a bit dry at times. Over all this is a really interesting class, and he is a good teacher.
