Dr. Stace is a good guy, and is patient with people struggling to grasp the material. His classes are BORING though. Since attendence is mandatory It was struggle to force myself to go to that class 3 days a week.

take for the W component. be prepared to sleep, or do work for another class. I never took notes and the papers were biographies that were a joke. easy A if you don't die of boredom first

This particular class was very easy, i would recommend this course for anyone who has to take a "Writing Across the Curiculum" class (INART100W). Attendance is mandatory but its basically like writing four 3 to 5 page biographies on composers of your choice. Stace is out of tune with the youth of today but he is a good person.

I had to drop his class he assign back-to-back homework assignments out of a $108 book. Not even to mention the homework is seriously hard. He give two quizzes and I believe assign a paper which makes up your grade. and aside from all that hes boring. On the upside he do have a sense of humor and is understanding.

It's true. He is super boring in lecture. But he does have a sense of humor buried somewhere, and is patient with students having trouble. The course is easy enough, so there's no reason to give him a bad rating. But he should definitely retire soon. He can be a little strict with grading, but overall it's pretty fair. He doesn't coddle.

He is by far the worst teacher I have ever had. Boring to the max. The listening assignments are extremely hard and pointless.I'd rather jump off a cliff then to go to take his class ever again. Everytime i went to his class i had suicide thoughts. MUST AVOID.

The class is pretty boring, mostly due to his monotonous voice. It's almost impossible to do well (better than C) on the listening assignments even if you pay attention in class. The exams are fair. Attendence is mantatory and will affect your grade. Overall a pretty easy GA credit if you can take the monotony.

He seems like a good teacher, and he is good in remembering if you ask for him to do you a favor (i.e. class related) but, one strange thing is that, he gets offended and angry if you fall asleep in class out of 180 students in room 112 woodland. Why does he have to get offended and angry if one person slept out of 180 students?!

This guy is dull as an prof. can possibly be, but he lectures right out of the text book (which is more like a work book that he wrote). He's not a hard teacher but you do have to study, but he gives you most of the questions prior to the test.

Dr. Stace is OK. Go to class and study the practice exams and you should get an A or B. Very boring but he gives extra credit for attendance and sometimes an optional lecture. I went to him with a problem in liostening assignment and he did help me. Very straight forward...does not try to trick you.

Oh Mr. Stace. So very boring and so very UNfunny. But he tries, so it's somewhat amusing. However, that comment that somebody said about the newspaper in class: yeah, I was reading the newspaper and he flipped out. Kind of testy. Good luck staying awake.

I agree, the class was a bit boring. Ego problem, had a fit if someone was reading the paper, even if no one else noticed ~ disrupted class often over stuff like that. Music played in class not always demonstrating point, and too loud!

Dr. Stace doesnt have much of a personality and it can be a little difficult to stay awake during his classes, but if you really want to learn about music (and not just looking for an easy A), he is probably the best professor you will find.
