Easy A if you have prior experience with calc. Don't even bother going to lecture until before the midterms... Make sure you look at past midterms/exams because they are almost identical. You learn everything from your TA so make sure you have a good one!

Wainger is knowledgeable and covers things well for people with prior calc experience, like me, so it was an easy A. for everyone else, your TA is your true professor, because you'll learn everything from them. from Wainger, do ALL the practice tests he gives you, because they are NO DIFFERENT than the 2 midterms and final he gives.

Old man isn't very good at teaching. This class is about your TA, so make sure you get a good one or else drop it. He gives lots of old exams/tests which are good to study with, so make good use of them. He's an eccentric old man who stumbles around so much you think he's wasted/baked. Friendly and generous about grades, etc., but useless.

Go to lecture because he explains everything that will be on the test. Easy tests but not good at explaining the material.

Funny but fairly old and clueless. On the flip side, his exams are easy (he tells you what will be on them). Don't expect to get much out of lecture--your TA will be your best friend.

Lectures are hilarious, but he lays out how he wants things on tests. Depend on your TA to understand things, but try Waingers examples on your own. Easy class. I recommend taking it with him.

THIS CLASS IS SO EASY. i really don't see how you anyone could get less than an AB. The mode on the first midterm was a 100%, like seriously? sure, he sucks at teaching but the TAs can make up for it, and the material is easy anyways. definitely take this class with him. he's pretty funny as well, i feel like he's my long lost grandpa.

Believe me when I say this: You better have yourself an amazing T.A. I find that professor Wainger thinks that he may be teaching to the class, when in reality, he isn't. He's old and aloof. Sure, he's somewhat funny.. but he is unorganized and does not know how to teach. As for easiness of tests.. not bad! Pretty simple if you study.

If you're taking calc, take wainger. Great class. Don't bother going to his lecture unless you're looking for a few laughs. Go to the lecture before the exam and he will tell you exactly what problems are on the exams (obviously not with the same numbers). His tests are very easy.

He is probably the worst math teach I've ever had. Just repeats himself when people ask him questions so no one ends up understanding and needs to retire ASAP!

He's hilarious. He's pretty damn old and not a very good teacher, but as long as you have a good TA you should be okay. He also usually lets you know what to expect on the exam. His lectures can get boring, especially when he makes mistakes and repeats himself a lot, but overall it's not that bad. Really. One funny old man.

Awful teacher. He really wants his students to learn the material, but he simply can't teach...at all. He routinely makes mistakes without correcting them, never explains anything conceptually, calls students out for looking at their notebook and writing instead of watching the board. Messed up grading both my midterms by over a whole grade (final?

Was long winded, repeated himself 16 times while writing the same things on the board. Went to office hours once, he told me because I needed help that I should drop the class, no partial credit on tests and you can't tell where the points are given or taken off. Avoid at all costs.

Would not recommend, your TA is your only savior. Lectures are not helpful, his handwriting is illegible and his lectures are boring and consist of showing examples. Assumes you already know everything and doesn't bother to explain theorems or equations. Great guy but he should retire, you can't help but worry that he might drop dead in class...

I never rate teachers, but I'm signing up for classes and was looking up another professor and saw that Prof Wainger had a bad review. I couldn't believe it, I thought he was great. Lecture was hilarious. His study guides were pretty straight forward so there weren't any surprises on the tests. I would highly recommend him!!

Don't listen to these Math 210 students. Prof. Wainger is VERY good as long as you work hard and pay attention. You can't just passively learn this material, which is what I think these people expect out of a Prof. He ALWAYS had time for his students and took a lot of time of his schedule to accommodate his honors kids. I recommend him highly
