Comment:
Almost 30% of his lectures are him discussing how great he is at marketing research, the remaining 70% is a very long, boring 60+ slide lecture. He is quite rude and condescending, doesn't give any helpful feedback but will be-little you instead. His exams are full of oddly specific questions about baaarely relevant material.

Comment:
Not a good teacher. He has major personnality issues. He needs to work on being nice with students. Incredibly rude. Always plays on the line of sarcasm. The lecture are long, way too long. Sometimes there are 60+ slides thrown at you and all you want to do is fall asleep or activate the entertainment on him. His exams are not well-constructed.

Make sure the people in your group for the group project are not idiots. It's all about the project. Start early, ask lots of questions. Do go to class, he gives important feedback on what is expected and what will be on the exam.

CMR2 548 771 at Mcgill Steve is very knowledgeable, but over 50 slides per lecture it is extremely hard to keep the focus. The statistics classes will make sense when you're using SPSS. The volume of assignments plus the group project are killers: get ready to spend your full weekends in the library specially if you're a full time worker.

Steve Letovsky is probably a great guy but a very average marketing teacher. His carreer is in market research but I had to take him for my IMC class. Most monotone, boring class ever. Extremely hard to stay focused through the 60+ publisher slides that he will read as if it's the first time he saw them. Tests only test dumb memorization.

Good professor. will help you if you ask him. Give greats insights on final exams and great exam reviews. Knows his material very well but goes thought 60-70 slides per class which is a lot and he goes through them as if he is Auctioning something. provides real life situations in marketing research since he's in the business. would recommend him

If you memorize everything in his slides you'll be fine, grading wise. Not a very interesting class. Professor is rude most of the time and does not promote a good environment in class. He is obsessed with the reviews in this website.

As a core class in the field and understanding of marketing, it is important to understand the fundamentals really well. Letovsky thrives at teaching the basics. He allows you to go beyond by being very responsive to questions and discussions inside class as well as being accessible outside of class. he cares a lot about his students - refreshing!

Overall, useful (general) course for those who want to work in advertising. He's a good teacher, but the course material seems a bit basic and it isn't overly exciting. The term "target market" is key. You can probably do well in this course by downloading his slides, memorizing them, and analysing TV commercials on your spare time!

Have taken 3 classes from this guy. IT's the same format over and over. Very predictable exams and midterms. Not a very good lecturer. Reads from the slides only. However, easy marker. Boring but easy, I guess.

Absolutely no pedagogical sense whatsoever. Just reads from slides he gets from the publishers. And serious personality issues.

Steven is a nice professor, however, he has personnality issues and he really doesn't know a lot about Marketing. Average IQ I would say.
