Comment:

Professor Summers is a great teacher. He takes time to explain everything out to you so you can fully understand the material you are learning. On top of this, he is an easy person to talk to- definitely not intimidating. I would take this course again just based on the way he taught and how easily I understood everything. His extra credit is life.

This teacher really did a good job teaching the material he had to teach. The tests are based off his notes and if you listen and study the notes, you will do fine. Make sure he is teaching lab. I had Sharma for lab and summers for lectureâ?¦ I got A's on all my test but ended up with B in the class because of Sharma!!!

TAKE HIM! It is that simple. He does a great job explaining the material for lecture. Online quizzes aren't hard and tests are based off of the notes he gives you in class. Excellent teacher and I would recommend taking him if you can!!!!

Dr. Summers is an excellent role model for teachers of any hard science course. He wants students to do well and his preparation for class shows this. Don?t kid yourself, if you don?t study or prepare for class you?ll do poorly. Take notes, study, and ask questions and the Doctor will teach you Chemistry.

Don't listen to the reviews that say the tests are hard... they are only hard bc the material is hard. Has nothing to do w/ him. He explains all of the material well and makes it crystal clear. Great lectures. Don't expect an easy A, but you CAN get an A. Read the book, take good notes/study them, do the hw, and you'll do well. Duh.

I got A's on both General Chemistry 1 and 2 for Dr. Summers. Come to class, take NOTES. Important: DO THE HOMEWORK! and go over it again just before the test and you'll be fine. Quizzes are given two tries, and there are bonus points. Overall he's a great professor and I would recommend to anyone.

Dr. Summers is a very nice professor and much better than the Chem 1 teacher I had. He does expect a lot out of his students but is always there for help. Class attendance isn't mandatory but there is no way you'll pass the tests without taking notes during lecture. Labs attendance a must.

Knows his stuff, is so sweet and nice and always willing to help, but his tests and quizzes are freakishly hard. If they were a little easier then I'd have loved this class. I studied non stop and still only pulled in 60's and 70's on tests. The other stuff is alot of work but still do able, like there are alot of net ionic equations for the labs

THIS TEACHER IS REALLY HARD. HIS TESTS ARE REALLY HARD TO PASS AND HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE NOTES. YOU HAVE TO READ THE BOOK LIKE CRAZY. DONT MISS CLASS. LABS ARE A WASTE OF TIME. TAKE ANOTHER PROFESSOR.

Extremely helpful professor, tests are quite hard to pass, you have to know all material to pass the test. Very helpful with labs and always kept grades up to date on Angel. Always responded to emails quickly, and taught class with humor which made 4 hours of class more interesting and easier to withstand. Highly recommend taking this profesor.

Must attend class. Must watch Angel for online quizzes and worksheets. Very detailed notes and a pleasure to watch. Knows his science. Labs are fluff material for the most part. Project was easy. Quizzes each class and exams scattered throughout the semester. Exams are not multiple choice only - you must study the material. Do not miss class.

This teacher is great. I am not a chem major but was a little intrested. He was so great at explaining. As long as you went to class and took notes the tests were really easy! I never missed a class which was a first! The absolute best teacher ever!!!

The BEST chm professor at SCC. Lectures & concepts are crystal clear. Exlpained concepts so well, I rarely had to look in the book for clarification. Always willing to help and very approachable. Tests are based on info. discussed in the lecture so attendance is mandatory. Great humor & personality, which makes his class interesting.

Dr. Summers is the BEST chemistry teacher in the world!i understood and learned so much in his class, he makes chem fun and easy to learn, he is funny,he explains everything very well,always availbe for help,make sure u write down everything he says and do the hw and u'll be good.i loved him and his class i took chem I&II with him he's awesome!I wish he taught organic!!

It almost doesn't feel like a science class because he makes it really interesting and fun. He assigns homework but never collects it. The worksheet packet he gives you is really helpful to study for tests though. He has fun little labs at the end of classes. Only bad thing is the quizzes he has every other day, but they're pretty easy.

I dreaded taking science especially chemistry, but Dr. Summers made class interesting while relating science to real world issues. His lectures were very clear and interesting as well as the labs he provides for the students. Definately the best teacher I've ever had for a science class and one of the best teachers at SCC!
