He truly means well and is enthusiastic about his work, but he just isn't great. The course is 95% in Spanish. He never finishes his plan for the day, and frequently wastes time on tiny grammar points. You'll score higher on the exams if you spit out things he has said about the works, but just say SOMETHING analytical and you'll score well.

Dr. Bell is a good teacher. He can't explain things very well but he means well. If you can convince him that you don't understand something, chances are he won't put it on the test. This class is easy, but I like Spanish so that could be part of it.

If you are not already very proficient in Spanish/ do not want to study or teach yourself concepts, DO NOT enroll in his class. I did well, but I understand Spanish very well and I studied a lot before the tests. He is very willing to negotiate what goes into the final grade. Not my favorite, but definitely not as bad as his reviews.

Everyone is way too hard on him. He's very laid back and will even negotiate what's on the tests and how much each section is worth. He sometimes has a hard time explaining things, but if you're willing to learn, his class is really fun. Really not a hard class at all; I'd take a class from him again if given the chance.

He's really scatter brained and all over the place. Has trouble sticking to the syllabus. Comes up with crazy grade calculations like having a mini exam worth 7% etc. But a good teacher enjoys his work. If you do half the reading you'll get an A. He's ok, but too scatter brained for me to take another class with him.

Dr. Bell is disorganized to the point of distraction and the fact that a 4000-level Spanish class was taught almost exclusively in English is sad. That said, he is enthusiastic and he tries...he just fails.

Everybody's being too hard on him. He's laid back, funny, and very democratic about due dates and test formats. He loves spanish and loves to teach. Yes, disorganized and maybe not well prepared, but a lot of fun. Take him if you've got a sense of humor and an otherwise heavy workload. Don't take him if you take yourself too seriously.

This class is a giant waste of time. As a literature course, there is no in depth discussion. Dr. Bell prefaces every comment he makes with, "I'm not sure, but..." As a culture course, he is hazy with dates, and there is, again, no depth in discussion. Not to mention, the class is mostly in English, and his Spanish is lacking.

great advisor, but not the best teacher in the world. he doesn't do a good job of explaining the concepts of grammar. he's not a teacher who will ruin your gpa, but it's not an enjoyable class, no matter how much you enjoy spanish.

dr. bell speaks spanish very well, and obviously has himself a clear understanding of grammar and speaking. However, he is not a good teacher, I'm not sure that he has ever prepared for class beforehand. And, even though the topics are not hard in class, I get confused just listening to him.

He may know Spanish, but in no circumstance should he have become a teacher. He is horrible!! The grammar material is clear as water, but he MUDDIES IT UP. After class I'm always more confused than I was before. It's pure torture. I'm going to do all I can to avoid his clases in the future!

I had Dr. Bell for Adv. Grammar and Syntax. The subject is about as clear as mud, but Dr. Bell explains things well. He tends to grade according to your profficiency, which is nice.

Dr. Bell is very amusing and extremely nice. He doesn't know alot about Business Span, but he realizes that and grades accordingly. His grading system doesn't seem to make sense, but it ends up working out.His laugh kept me in stitches all semster:)
