Chem 351 was really helpful, but I would not recommend taking this class during the spring/summer semesters. Doc is really nice and will go to the end of the earth to teach the material. His tests are hard as heck, but really prepare you for the MCAT or DAT. Good Luck!

You will really know O-Chem once you're done. Doc stresses concepts and understanding why things happen. I't essential to use TA's to digest everything from the lecture.

Fleming is a great professor. He is more than willing to help, and he tests on your application of what you've learned. You have to know how everything works. Super fair, willing to bend over backwards to help his students. Tests are beasts. Class is necessary, recitation not so much. It you want a challenge and to know a lot, take it from him.

Comment:

Doc is a good teacher, much more manageable than other Ochem teachers I've heard about. Tests are dang hard the practice tests help you with about 60% of the tests that you'll actually take the other 40% is other stuff he hasn't tested on before. TAs are essential. Get their help. If you can, read, and do the homework ?s. I recommended him.

Not a fun class at all... has nothing to do with nursing...good teacher but hard subject. He knows a ton but is har to explain to student s becasue of so much knowledge that he dpes have. Willing to help!

Dr Fleming is so awesome! Expect the exams to make you think. You really have to know your stuff, but Fleming's lecture are great, and he is just a really good teacher. He'll help you if you need it I'm sure. I just really enjoyed his class, and if you have to take it, you should take it from him. He knows his stuff, and he's just a great! :)

One of the best Chemistry teachers I have ever had. He is way fun and he explains things great. The class is hard from whoever you take it from, but he made it much more interesting. He always starts class with classic rock!

Doc is awesome. He is the most sincere professor I've ever had and really wants everyone to suceed. He'll bend over backwards to help you outside of class and is never arrogant or short when you ask him questions. His tests are HARD but he prepares you for it. If you want a good grade, meet with Doc regularly during his office hours.

Doc taught me to love organic chemistry! He really requires you to study and learn, but you can succeed and be proud of it. Ochem should not be easy. If you are going to learn it, learn it from Doc.

He is a good guy... You have to take his tests when he schedules them, not in the testing center but outside of normal class time. I feel like I didn't really learn a whole lot, it seemed like all we did was memorize random reactions and structures.

For the people who complained that the test were hard, what were you expecting? this is O-Chem! try to not be retarded. Doc is a great teacher, he is approachable and helpful. Don't take this class from anyone else.
