He thinks he is funny when he's not. He makes you feel dumb if you do not know the exact years that everything in the world happened.

Online quizzes due every week but are very hard, case studies are easy to do so show up to class because people get picked at random to present, only two exams but are fill in the blank with no word bank. Would not recommend him as a prof

Dr. Jackson is not only knowledgeable in what he teaches but he is very articulate and makes lectures very interesting. He is also quite hilarious, his humor is very enjoyable. Not to mention, he inspired me to completely change my career path, so that should say something.

Pop quizzes. Case study presenters chosen at random, essay questions on tests. Aside from that, Steven Steel Hanky Jackson was a cool dude and the class was surprisingly interesting. I slid by with a C somehow even with skipping a lot of classes. I do not advise skipping though! I got lucky.

Your whole grade is basically based on your online quizzes you take which are IMPOSSIBLE unless you know the textbook word for word. Midterm and Final are both fill in the blank.

10/10 would not recommend. Every week there is an online quiz that he does not prepare you for. Every week 1-2 case studies are due and five people per study are randomly selected to read in front of the whole class. He knew what he was talking about but took the 101 class way too seriously.

Sets very clear expectations. Many different graded items, and will give you a 50% on case study "pop quizzes" just for showing up to the class that day. Do the case studies and read the assigned textbook chapters before the quiz and you should have no problem in his intro class.

his class consists of case studies and online quizes once a week that add up to alot of points if one doesnt do them. The tests are somewhat difficult but everyhting one needs to pass them are on moodle (or d2l if he moved his course there).

Great teacher! If you ask him for help you'll get it. His exams are 30% of your grade and are fill in the blank. Most of your grade come from class participation and online quizzes. The quizzes are 10 questions and you have 10 minutes to complete each quiz. There not easy though.

Definitely a nice teacher, however for the PLSC 101 he was a little too hard. You can tell he loves what he teaches though. If you go to his office for help, he kind of helps. Expect a 10 question quiz every week, and case studies: 1 or 2 a week, and you never know when you'll be called on to do your case study so you always have to have it done.

Dr. Jackson makes this 101 class harder than it needs to be. Do the case studies because you never know when you will be called. Offers 2 extra credit opportunities. Quizzes weekly. Midterm was easy, final was difficult. Definitely makes you work for an A.

Dr. Jackson is absolutely the best professor of PLSC 101 and probably ever. He is hilarious, encourages participation and is engaging and wonderful. Best class i have ever taken, you must work hard for an A but it is so worth every homework assignment.

He's utterly brilliant. He's witty, a clear and precise teacher, and I found him extremely enjoyable. You will need to participate. He makes that clear at the beginning of the semester. Don't skip class. Buy the book. He's tough but fair. If you actively pay attention & participate, you should do well. I would definitely take another class of his.

Has to do homework every MWF. Tough grader and all he do is talk. Don't tell you what is expected on the exams. Exams are so hard and lectures are boring. FAILED this class and took again with a different professor and got an A. Take the class but not with him if you wanna pass

Dr. Jackson is my favorite professor at IUP. He's an amazing speaker and lecturer who makes everything very clear and incredibly interesting, plus is funny and genuinely likable. 101 is mostly taught through "case studies" (homework), but they're never too long or that hard. He also gives tons of extra credit. I highly recommend his courses.

You have to do multiple case studies a week, they get easier towards the end but they definitely start very hard. You have a 10 question quiz every Friday, and it involves in class activities, as well as 40ish pages from the textbook. (you can generally google most of those though).

Expects you to put the work in, so if you're lazy and cut class then you'll get no sympathy. Which is reasonable, this is college after all. He is one of the most enrapturing lecturers you will likely have in college: prepared, knowledgable, energetic, and funny. I just took his class because I was required to, but he made the class great!

Tons of reading. Tons of homework. If you are bad at attending class, pick a different professor, because frequent absences will equal failing. I know because it happened to me. There are weekly quizzes, and daily homeworks. Also, if you have anxiety, be prepared - he makes you read your homework in front of a class of 50-60 students.

Dr. Jackson's class required case studies that are hard to grasp at first but then once you're used to what he looks for, then pretty easy. The midterm and finals are memorization but spend an hour or two a night finals week and you should pass them easily. Lectures are rough to stay awake at times but he does his bet to make them interesting.
