I haven't rated a professor before and only because Jones is so unhelpful and demeaning am I now. My intent is to warn English majors of this actual computer science course. We learned more about computers and technology than any work of literature. Jones discourages questions or seeking help with material and is unprofessionally demeaning in class

So boring. i thought I liked poetry but this guy kind of crushed it. Every class was the same. I mean the guy was funny. But I fell asleep at least once a week. Boring. boring. Take the class if you have to but be warned it will be painful.

Professor Jones is kind and has a good sense of humor. He knows what he is talking about. However, I thought I liked poetry before this class, but it really bored me. I wish he had been more available to help, he was my only professor this semester who didn't seem to know my name. Class is structured the same way every day. It's dry, but not hard.

He was amazing, fun, thought inspiring. Other students complained, but I enjoyed the class. Our textbook was on back order, so readings were online. Digital and new, he brought is awesome aspects. We went to the archives and did presentations. Really really good prof and a fantastic class. TAKE HIM! He's understanding and learned.

Professor Jones is very intelligent and knows his stuff. He is helpful and approachable. The course itself is rather difficult, but Professor Jones does a great job teaching it and really helps you understand the material. Though not an easy A, I recommend taking Jones. You will learn from him.

He lectures the whole time, which is really boring. You read poems everyday that don't make any sense. You are responsible for writing a blog each week and then turning 2 blogs into papers, but he does not give you clear directions, no one in the class knew how long it was supposed to be. Dont take him you wont learn anything

Extremely smart and a great lecturer. A lot of these comments say he doesn't give enough info on projects-- this is because he expects you to go to him for help. He really encourages that you go to his office hours, email him, etc so you really know what to do when you're writing a paper for him. Recommend any class from him-- he was great.

I took his intro to poetry and thought it was pretty good. the "textbook" was a pdf file of a bunch of poems so not having to pay for another textbook was nice. very kind and helpful and a decent lecturer, and you can tell he enjoys his field. helpful outside of class. would recommend him

I excel in writing, have gotten nothing but As on all essays in my first 2 years, and this guy tore me apart. Very boring lectures, but interesting guy. he's very accomplished and knows his stuff, but in my opinion expects way too much in his essays. 15 on page essays (75%), attendance (19%), and final exam (15%). Not very specific about FinalExam.

I thought this guy was going to be a nice teacher. He ended up being awful.You read STUPID poetry and if u dont see it his way, u get a C. I emailed him a paper a week before it was due, he sent it back to me the night before it was due with corrections. I have never had a mean teacher till him, he was very rude to me at the end of the semester.

this brit. lit class was very laid back. Jones is a pretty quiet guy and also laid back. Class consisted of 2 recitations where you read a poem and lead class in discussion. No midterm, 1 5 page paper, take home final. boring, but interesting.
